WELSH SEASON FAR FROM OVER
Monday, 28 July 2003

It was good news on the injury front for Essendon this afternoon with an MRI scan clearing young defender Andrew Welsh of any structural damage to his shoulder. Welsh crashed to the ground heavily in the first quarter of last weekend's match against Melbourne and his season looked to be over. But today's scan confirmed he just has some fluid and bruising around the joint and he should only miss two weeks, meaning he will return for Essendon's Round 20 clash with Richmond.

Thank god

Thats great news.

I was fearing for his season when I saw the what happened. He has just started playing well for essendon and had played a pretty good game against melbourne up until the injury.

He has been good since he came into the side and he has allowed MJ to go into the middle which is a double bonus. I am releieved his season isnt over as he is a good young player who does all the 1%'s no one really notices.

We're gonna be a bit light on for small defenders the next 2 weeks!

Great to hear he isn't too bad.

He has taken some huge hits since he started Woosha , not that whelan`s poor effort was a hit. Does anyone remember david schwarz`s brave effort last year ? Got 1 week, and then retired, weak as ****.

Woosha is very lucky/fortunate.

On the small defenders bit, we can come up this trick..move MJ back and Bully into the middle.
