It was on Foxtel today.

Anyone seen it ? I couldn't believe my eyes, I didn't know the Yanks had that sort of humour ..

Welcome to the world of Kevin Smith.

All five of his films are special, from Clerks to J&SB.

A genius.

Don't think it's the best of the lot by a long shot, but it's still pretty funny.

Chasing Amy is his best film.

Pushing a number of intellectual boundaries, or butts out windows, anyways. Pines councillors would find it lowbrow.

Clerks - breakthrough independent film. brilliant, my fave.
Mallrats - also very good despite scathing reviews. you either love it or you hate it. i love it. Also is the first of the films to feature some actual stars - Ben Affleck, Shannon Doherty.
Chasing Amy - A little more serious. Very good film, not quite as slapstick as the others. More plot based.
Dogma - One very serious film, despite the comedy. Depending on who you listen to its either blasphemous (the religious right) or an affiormation of Smith's Catholic beliefs (the creator).
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - which you've seen. the film fans of Kevin Smith craved, giving the boys their opportunity to hold a film together. This is generally one for the fans, but you seem to have liked it.

Together these films are called The Jersey Chronicles.

I think i've seen 3 of this guy's movies. Only got about 15 mins into Mallrats and Chasing Amy before i got bored and hit the stop button. Dogma was ok i think, but i don't remember much about it. The other 2 though....

I got about 20 minutes into Clerks. Utter pigswill. Aimed at the common target audience of 12yo boys who now have far too much control over what they can do and have.

Dogma is my favourite Kevin Smith film, with Jay and Silent Bob a close second. Eliza Dushku is seriously hot in those leathers, and later in that skimmpy nightie.

- Clerks started out slow, but very worth it by the end.

- Mallrats was wonderfully silly.

- Chasing Amy is just so different from the other movies it's totally unfair to compare them. Good to watch though.

- Dogma. Didn't really work as well as it should have.

- Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Old skool road trip movie ;)

I can't believe I paid to watch it... The only ones laughing in the cinema were 12 year olds that thought saying '****' or every two seconds was hillarious. Tripe at its finest.

I did like Dogma.

Ditto (on all counts).

Chris Rock is a riot in Dogma.
