What are your predictions for the match?

Essendon I think will win this match nice and easily although Carlton have been sort of a bogey team for us lately.

Im picking a 51 Point win to The bombers

Score:

Essendon 17.15.117
Carlton 9.12.66

We can't lose, can we ? i mean seriously - it would have to be the most **** weak effort if we did lose.

I'll say 45 points - but it should be 60+ if we are up for it.

Carlton always give us a run for our money - Dons by 17

On paper, we should tear those pansies to shreds like the pies did on sunday and give our percentage a healthy boost, barring all variables like a monsoon, an outbreak of the windy hill flu, or Kouta getting his hands on another shipment of those drugs he used to be on...

We really should smash them by 10 goals, in theory. Really...

Honestly though, 7 points... We have a knack of playing utter crap when they are exceptionally bad. The only time I recall giving them a right proper hiding was in 1999 and 2000.

I will not at all be suprised if they won...

And with ods of $6 to win, if they were any other team named other than carl****, I'd put money against us.

TAB Sportsbet have us at $1.12 in a two horse race...that's a hair's breadth from being declared outright certainties. If we lost this, it'd be humiliating, and the first nail in our 2003 coffin...on the other hand, thrashing the scum should give us confidence..I dare say the ship is a bit rickety after the mostly unconvincing win against Melbourne.

We will struggle all afternoon and win by less than 2 goals.

Gee, a confident bunch of b@stards arnt yas! :p ;)

Seriously, they havnt got the cattle - start of the year they were competitive as they were fresh, had most of their squad in - but as the year has gone on they have lost players, and the toll of league footy is visibly taking its toll on a pretty young and inexperienced bunch.

We should win by the length of the straight, but knowing us we will go thru the motions like when we played a depleted carlton late last season.

Comfortable win, but nothing to get excited about.

I know they have a knack of upsetting us, but surely they cant this time.

Agreed Smokin - can see us winning convincingly without being convincing.

This game is a no-win for us as far as reputation goes. We get no kudos if we spank them, a small win and folks will say we should have done better, and a loss......best not to think about that.

We do need to start putting the pressure on Freo with some big wins to sneak past them on percentage.

We need to flog them. But I don't think we will.

If I were Sheeds I wouldn't accept anything less than a 7 or 8 goal margin, because percentage is important to somebody sitting 9th on the ladder.

One problem is the Kangas having that draw - our percentage is quite a bit healthier than theirs at the moment but that draw makes it meaningless.

Essendon to spank those rats by 50+. There is no other alternative if we are to be contenders.

We will smash em into lil' itty bitty pieces!:D

Carlton are in absolute disarray, I wouldn't be surprised if some of their players turned up at the wrong ground...

It's sooooo sad to see such a proud club floundering so badly...:p

Although they always seem to play well against us, as someone put it to me this week, they're probably too far gone to do much against us. Hope we flog their asses...we'd want to, after what I went through seeing them lose in Round 3. And this game is more important.

I had a dream last night that we lost to them by 8 points...but my dreams never act out! :D :S

If we cant win this we shouldnt even be allowed to make the finals, if we have a **** start we could be in trouble, but a good start will see us win by a mile and get some percentag.

If fletch gives fevola a hiding we might even win by triple figures..they got no other forward options if he's shut down.

Dons by 65 points

Should be a reasonably comfortable with the blues team that is going round at the moment they couldnt beat anyone at the moment. A good start will see a easy win yet it could go horribly wrong if the boys dont switch on properley. A win in everygame left is a distinct possibility with the run in that we have for the last few games. If so we will make the finals and could mess up some teams hopes

You can never be too confident with Carlton.

Dons by 15

Well so far it has been a pretty shocking match. Low scoring and the bombers just lead.

Essendon 6.7.43
Carlton 4.10.34

9 Mins into the 3rd quarter

Poor Kicking by Carlton may be costly.
