Firstly I don't understand the bids. If someone locks in $695 and someone locks in $800 and their price of the watch is $700 they give it to the person who picked $800? They did that the other night...

Anyway when your playing along at home, what game are you the best at?

For me it would definately have to be Bump - I haven't made an incorrect guess so far since TPIR has returned. I'm also fairly good at the game where you start off with 7 one dollar bills.

The game I struggle with is with that little man and his dog who climb up that mountain.

They shouldn't have. The idea is to pick the closest price without going over...

That would be the hardest game. Although most of the games can stuff you up when they include items such as paintings, jewellery etc.

I find when they do the initial bidding the way to go is guess how much you think it is worth and then add $200 :p Most of the prices are ridiculous.

Always a big fan of the one with five prizes where you to match the right value with the right prize. I think you have 45 seconds to match the prizes. Every time you make five matches, you pull a big handle which tells you how many of your guesses are correct. Buggered if I can remember what it is called.

I agree that the prices are often way priced. I have noticed that 99% of the time, the watch will be worth more than the Dishwasher!

What ****es me off about this show is when Larry is revealling the prices at the end of the showcase. Do they ever have any contestants who can do basic maths?

eg.
Showcase total = $32,780

Watch $130
Stereo $750
Lounge suite $1500
Prints $2300
Holiday ??????
Car $18500

Larry builds the suspense before revealling the holiday price. The contestant stands there shaking his head thinking he screwed up.

Add the f__king things up moron $32,780 - $23,180 = $9600
OF COURSE YOU HAVE WON

Indeed. I've never liked that. It gives the person who goes last a massive advantage.

I reckon that's one of the better games. It at least involves more skill than trying to guess the third digit in the price of a car.

The first item will always be around $30-40 and it goes up in $15-20 increments. Or something like that. If you know the game you should be able to guess the three items within the margin of $24.

What hacks me off is people who come on the show and have never seen the game they're playing before!

Amazing isn't it? The full maths would be hard to do inside one's head, but they can surely do the round offs and get a fair idea of whether they're close or way off.

For me, I've always liked the hole-in-one game, even though the game inevitably always falls on the shoulders of somebody who never plays golf.

It is a rather strange experience to watch this show having been raised on the American version.

I always liked the Golf one, and the guy going up the dang mountain with his dog.

If you were the last one to bid, surely you would just bid $1 over the highest bid (unless it was hugely unreasonable).

I haven't watched The Price Is Right for AGES.

My favourite though was the Mountain guy thing. :D I can't remember the name of it but that one amused me the most.

You mean there is more to this show than just perving on fake titted model bimbos?

Slightly off topic, does anyone know where I can find a photo of James Sherry online? You know, the interview guy at the G and the bloke who got shafted for Larry

The Golf Game is the easiest. You just have to be decent at golf and you have won the prize, which is usually the car.

I can't stand the mountain game.
