View Full Version : Who is harder...Adkins, Munro, Selwood or Chambers?

With the finals a few weeks away, our depth is starting to come under scrutiny with the injuries to Gardi (although the awesome Cox is doing well), Fletch, Embley & Wooden. Midfield replacements could be the key to a successful campaign. There are a few players on our list now who are more likely replacements than others and my only question is whether these guys have the hardness to handle finals football. Currently I'd rank them in the following order:
Adkins
Munro
Chambers
Selwood???
I don't know about Selwood being a Vic. I know he gets a lot of WAFL touches but so do the others.
My question is who is best suited to stand up and be counted if given a chance come September?
Adkins
.
Chambers

Munro

Munro stood up last year in our final, so I would say him first, then Adkins, then Chambers. Selwood I cannot comment on.

Definately Adkins, when put on the ground this year he has performed admirably in my opinion. Definately a little livewire when he can get his hands on the ball.
Also if really needed, Munro displayed he can play last year and could be called up for the task at hand if needed.
Chambers is out of favour, and Selwood is too raw to be given a go in the seniors come the business end of the season.

gotta be Chippa, he's performed quite well when given a decent chance.
Munro played really well in last years final, and i've still got pretty big hopes for him.
I think by the time finals come around, we'll have everyone back (although Embers will still be getting back in the mode) and we'll be a genuine force.
I think Munro is the harder but needs to bulk up a bit for it to have effect.
Can't see Adkins as being hard at all.

I think that Chambers would really steep up to the challange. I think he is a talented footballer given more of a chance maybe this is what he needs to break back into the side and salvage his career at the WCE. I definetly think that he should be given a go.
Munro is alright however he probably isnt quiet there with his physical toughness.
Adkins dont even get me started.

Adkins is a gun, I am glad we picked him up from Collingwood.
He isn't what you would define as a 'hard' player, but given opportunities within the next few seasons and more game time he will have a very good career at West Coast.

His delivery into the forward 50 is probably in the top 4 or 5 at the club. Did you see his delivery into the 50 in the Lions game? It was brilliant, if anyone of these blokes deseves a chance its chipper!

Definately, I'm all for chipper to be re-instated into the side. He deserves the chance.

Yeah I know your all for it! Im just agreeing with you! I think Chipper COULD be the bloke to fill in for Embers till he gets back!

Chipper when given ground time has been a little dynamic player for us, bobbed up with a goal here and there and created opportunities along the way. His kicking is phenominal.
Munro has in the past done pretty well but i see him getting in body on body positions too often so gets bodied out, basically for him to be effective he needs to stay AWAY from being bodied up.
Chambers didnt really impress me in the WAFL game on Sunday(although he did get in the best players for WP, but WP wasnt exactly a force:P) and seems to have fallen out of favour. Re-instating him could do 1 of 2 things
a) kickstart him showing him he still has a shot at it, chambers rises to the challenge and gets back to what he used to be
b) is a wasted spot, plays a shocker and heads back to Vic at years end.
Id prefer to see Chipper given a go, if not him Munro and lastly chambers.
Selwood i have not added as i dont know enough about him to comment.

Goal-scoring wise he could, but I don't know about his marking ability around the ground, a bit too small for that. Rowan Jones will need to fill that void in the marking area.

Uhuh for sure, we'll find out alot about both Jones and Chipper by the end of this year!

i saw Chippa play his first game for Collingwood, and from very early on in his career i've been really impressed.
He's got a lot of good qualities, and has class disposal.
I think in the end we'll probably get the better of the Williams-Adkins deal, despite Williams great season thus far.

uhuh I reckon your right. Hopefully chipper can get more chances next season!
