I have pumped this kids tyres up for too long. He has all the tools to be a great player for this club. He is super fast , can kick off both feet.....but he doesn't get enough of the ball to be damaging.

I will admit though i think he is being played out of position in the backline. He is a midfielder plain and simple whether that be onball or on a wing. I hope they give the kid a chance there to show his stuff because he needs to show something and quick.

At his best he would be brilliant on a wing for our senior side as his pace would be a huge benifit. So pull ya finger out james or you will become the next Mark fraser or Daniel McAlister.

I think you'll find that Davies will be given quite some time to prove himself purely because of the fact that he was our first pick in 2000 and the fuss that was made at the time regarding us alledgedly 'hiding' him so other clubs didn't draft him. Sheedy loves getting credit for his 'cunning ploys' so i imagine he is keen for this one to turn up trumps so the media can masturbate over him again.

FWIW i reckon Davies is a dud and should get the flick this year.

James Davies is an overrated hack. We took him at #16 in the 2000 national draft when Daniel Kerr was sitting at #18...that's some poor recruiting decisions that may haunt us yet. He's got jack all in trade value, so chances are he'll get culled before too long.

I would give him another year at the best before he's off to the VAFA.
