WA recently won the National U/16 championships with something like 9!!! West Australians making the All Australian U/16's side. This suggests the future is bright for WA Juniors and hopefully in the coming years a few top draft prospects will come from WA.
One player in particular i would like to comment on is a player called Shawn Colbung Jnr. He comes from Albany(i played with him last year) and is the son of East perth footballer Shawn Colbung Snr. Shawn was in the national U/16's side and made the All Australian team. This kid is phenominal. Hes a forward/midfield type player of the Sampi/Matera type so may not be what we are looking for in the future but of all the youngsters i have seen this kid is special. He is playing League in the Albany comp and is only 14-15 years old. I would say he will easily play AFL football, the question is will we want to draft another top class midfielder/forward in the next 2-3 years and would we get the chance to draft this guy as i reckon he'll be pretty highly sort after!

Either way 9 WA players in the All Aus side is a great effort and congrats to the U/16's on winning the national title!

The final is this Saturday, Richmond Oval.

WA vs SA, both undefeated so far, so I think you jumped the gun a touch ;)

Doesn't really matter anyway, the funding poured into Victoria by the AFL will probably tip the scales by the time they are under 18's anyway.

It was a "State" 15's Schoolboys team...that's why you cant find any stats...totally different to the WAFL State 18's and 16's.
