View Full Version : Australia vs. Bangladesh 1st One-Dayer
Australia winning the toss and electing to field.
0/2 after 1 over.
Banga's are 5/33  after 11.3 overs
Brett Lee has 4 wickets. The other wicket was a run out.
Bangladesh were all out for 105!
Australia are 1/43 in reply, at lunch!
Why are we bothering to play the ODIs. I know we had to play the test matches but this is just going to be a flogging.

The Aussies ended up winning by 8 wickets.
Hayden finished 46*
Ponting got 29 but was somehow bowled when the aussies needed a few runs to win. Good to see Martyn back. He finished 0* off 1 ball.
Lee getting 4 wickets was man of the match. Good win.
2nd ODI tomorrow and I think it will be the same story if the aussies bowl 1st. Whoever wins the toss tomorrow will bat.

The person that decided to play Australia and Bangladesh in a one-dayer needs to be drug tested. That game was a flogging, there was no highlight for Bangladesh. Atleast tomorrow there might be some excited, Aussie bat first, atleast then the 50 overs will be used.

It's amazing how different a bowler Lee is in the two forms of the game.
The venom and menace he displayed in his spell today was rarely in evidence during the recent Test series - in fact, they've rarely been in evidence in Test matches at all in the last 2 years.
It has to be said, it was a pretty soft performance by the Bangaldesh batsman today. They simply didn't fight hard enough to keep their wickets and see off the main strike bowlers of Lee and Gillespie. If they had, they would've been able to pick off the 5th bowler for some comfortable runs, as they'd done with Bichel and Hogg.
Should've scored around 200 today.
