Most runs in a test series ?

Does anyone know who has scored the most runs in a 5 test series ?

Graeme Smith,new South African captain,is up to about 600 runs in the test series against England.It's only 2 days into the 2nd test. :eek:

He got 277 in the first innings of the first test.He got about 80 in the 2nd innings.
Currently in the 2nd test he is 214 not out.
