did you guys get rid of jason heatley?

he was a good player and kicked 2-4 goals most week and always kicked 5+ against us or richmond.

i nicknamed gehrig, jason sienfeld after the nth game coz he did a heatley (kick a huge bag against us and average every other week) and looks like seinfeld

I think that the arguements go something like this:

too one dimensional

not enough 1%ers

just not quite good enough

Plenty of supporters were unimpressed when he was let go & I think some would still like to see him playing.

I don't know if he nominated for a draft but no other team picked him up after finishing with us so that says something.

Didn't do a thing for two years, the decision to delist him was correct.

He was great for us during 1997 and 1998 and I think many of our supporters were very happy with his contribution but sadly in the end he was just too one-dimensional as Karnaby said.

Basically he couldn't take an overhead mark to save himself and once opposition teams worked it out and cut his supply on the lead there wasn't really much he could do.

I reckon I would speak for most Saints fans in hoping that him and Crippa can be very successful for Tassie in the VFL.

Saints, how can you beat Adelaide,West Coast and Brisbane and lose to teams from the lower rungs of the ladder ??????

Must be very,very frustrating .

Melbourne are the only low rung side we've lost to.

I agree with all of the above! If Heater had taken overhead marks in his last couple of years, he still could have done the business. Just never got the ball.....

Too right, Melbourne is the only team lower than us we lost to, and I was embarrased by that loss, worst off the year without a doubt. But as good sides do we bounced back and have some great wins under our belts. All in all a fantastic year, even if we dont make the finals.
