Better than I expected, not great but kept my interest. Worth a look.

Solid effort from Steve Carrell with a few timely one-liners. Jemaine Clement of Flight Of The Conchords fame was great, probably his best performance yet.

Possibly the single worst trailer I have ever seen.

For me, it was a classic example of all that is wrong with many American comedies.

Can't comment on the movie itself, am sure I will never watch it.

Watched the French original years ago and enjoyed that.

Yeah, saw it a few months ago and it's pretty average. French original is much much better.

I had absolutely no interest in the movie up until you mentioned Jermaine. Now I have to watch it :thumbsu:.

He's probably the reason why I kept watching it. Mel from the Conchords is in it as well and is not bad in her role either.

Steve Carrell just isn't funny so it's pretty hard to expect a movie featuring him as the leading comedic actor to be funny.

He was in Anchorman which was funny but that was only because Will Ferrell was in it. Suddenly everyone assumed Steve Carrell was funny too, they were wrong. He isn't funny in movies or that US Office crock of shit either. He is an annoying, unfunny d***head.

I thought it was appaling and left early. Apart from Anchorman Carell has been in some shockers

The Dinner Game was such a good movie that it was always a bad idea for the Americans to do a remake.

They should just make a movie about his character Brick Tamland.

That's not a hard and fast rule though. The Departed is a great movie, even though Infernal Affairs is an alltime classic. That said, trying to remake a light French social comedy seemed like it was going to be a disaster from the word go - it's just not a style Hollywood does well.

I've got to stick up for Carell, I think he's extremely funny - just not as a lead actor. Some of the stuff he did on The Daily Show was hilarious - Even Stevphen with Stephen Colbert is the best segment that show has ever had.

I hated the French original but don't think the remake looks any better. From memory, it came out around the same time as The Closet which represents a pretty low point in French comedies.

One of the funniest movies I have seen in ages. Paul Rudd plays a great straight man to Steve Carrell. Comedy gold this movie.

I have to agree with you there, it was so bad that i chose to watch Salt on the plane last week....

Salt is quite possibly the worst film ever made.
