I'll preface this by saying I haven't seen him play, but seemed to kick a few goals in the Box Hill Ressies in 2010 and starting to see a few more people elsewhere on BF pick up on him as a mobile ruck after his agility test results at the State Screening. And I guess he fits the recent trend of basketball converts to AFL too, so perhaps it's not surprising that his name is staring to come up.

All in all, he sounds the sort of player that would have a fair bit of upside - but that's all on paper. I guess my question to any Reserves watchers is - is he any good? And do you reckon we (or someone else) might look to take him on...?

VERY raw convert to footy from tennis (from memory). Really good athlete with the ability to play all over the field. If you'd asked me early in the season if he was a draft chance, I would have said you were kidding, but he had a great second half to the season, and it seems like the drums are beating loudly on this one.

Basketball actually. He was OK without being outstanding. At 199cm and the age of 20 yrs he's at a tweener size, and the same size as Grimely. He'll be surplus to our needs but he's a rough chance to get rookied elsewhere.

He won't be a first ruckman, more of an athletic 2nd ruck type. His attributes are he's pretty hard at it, athletic, and has some upside. Even with Box Hill's ruck problems mid season when Renton went down, he wasn't close to a promotion.

From the little I have seen I would be surprised if he got a rookie spot. Got height and reasonable build not sure he is good enough at anything to make me excited.

I get the feeling (sounds like a song..sorry) that Hawthorn sometimes try and hide players in the 2nds so I wouldn't necessarily read anything into that plus the Hawks wanted Grimley and Lowden and Taylor to ruck as much as possible in the seniors.

When I first saw him in the finals he was ok. Heard abit about him but I like the upside of this guy. Agree not a 1st ruck but a lot to like as a 2nd tall athletic mobile big man around the ground. Still a raw product but still young.

Signed with Sandringham Zebras.

Probably a good move with Renouf/Bailey, Lowden, Grimley and Renton all before him. He could have been transformed into a good CHB also.

Yes I am surprised he was nor picked up as a rookie at the hawks.

I see him being drafted at the end of this year

Didn't get rookied anywhere either.

Jimmy needs to play VFL seniors in 2011, too ruckmen in front of him to play seniors at Box Hill as Lowden and Grimley need to be developed, and no where near ready to play KPD.

A good move for him to enhance his profile in the Sandy senior team.

Well I tend to agree somewhat. I did say in an earlier post he was a tweener size and a athletic 2nd ruck type. At 199cm he could certainly fulfill that role but I saw CHB potential to be honest. He has good intensity, will spoil, and reads the play well enough to be tried in that role.

Renton who is a slowish type and will never get drafted but would still be ahead of Jimmy at Box Hill so a move to the Zebras is a good move.
