Hearing on SEN that there is some money being directed to junction Oval and development of cricket in Victoria- and one of the things that may come about is renaming Eddie's favourite ground in honour of SK Warne. I've got mixed feelings on that- obviously, Warne is an absolute champion, and one of the top Aussies of all time- but naming an entire ground for a player....I just don't know.

I love the Aussie idea of naming stands for famous players- in warne's case, you could make it the bar/cigarette stand....joke....

Interested to hear what the true blue Vics think of this plan.

Well there isnt really a stand there to name after him :D

The biggest worry with this redevelopment is the talk of moving the games there, not happy with that at all unless they are going to build a few stands and shelter and get some carparking that doesnt cost a fortune and doesnt require topping up a meter at every break

Allan Border Field?

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium?

It's hardly groundbreaking

There's an election on.

The ALP really have lost the plot and John Brumby will try any populist stunt to get elected.

Warne fully deserves to have a cricket oval named in his honour. One of the greatest to have ever played.

Story in the local rag earlier in the year that an oval at Morwell was going to be renamed the Peter Siddle Oval.
Yes........I'm serious.
