Would any Aussies get a birth?

This is how I would have it.

Sehwag
Smith
Sangakkara
Tendulkar
Jayawardena
Kallis
Dohni
Swann
Khan
Anderson
Steyn

I reckon it would be the first time for a while that no AUssie has been in there.

Probably the only guys that could get considered would be Clarke, Watson, Haddin and Johnson.

I don't know where, but i think Watson would have to be in there.
Bowling form has been better than Kallis's, to hell with structure, straight swap them.

Man there are tons of good openers going around right. Smith would miss out just because SA haven't really played much recently but I rate him higher than Watson. I'd probably have Dougeh in there instead of Khan too, but you guys know how much I love him so....

I don't rate Dhoni at all under pressure but unless we're giving Kumar the gloves....

Stats wise, Smith has to be in there. Been churning out runs in pretty much every series he's played for the past few years. Another 100 in the match going on as we speak.

Also, Bangladesh would be close to having a couple of players in the 11, in Tamin & Shakib.

I think Amla should definitely be in there somewhere, maybe in place of Jayawardena. He's been brilliant in Tests and ODI's this year.

Watson should be in the side.

Dhoni's batting form has been pretty crap recently, surely there's a better option out there (Haddin isn't it though).

I reckon you could jam Watson in somewhere. Clarke wouldn't make it and I think he's closer than anyone else.

Prior maybe. Boucher's past his best, McCullum's given up the gloves and so has Kumar, Pakistan and Banga lol and there's Haddin.

Anderson is rubbish, I'd take any of our quicks over him. Hilfy will show himself to be in the top3 quicks in the world this summer.

Watons would be the only Australian on form.

like the look of this line up but surely haddin cant be in there....he hasnt played test cricket in a while (i believe this hypothetical team is based on current form?) and would take kumar or dhoni ahead of him anytime

yeah i agree watson would be about our only bloke who could get into a current world xi....his form has been fantastic for a period of time now, he wouldnt knock over sehwag and/or smith for an opening berth, but would have to slot into the middle order somehow. amla, tendulkar etc pick themselves and its a shame aamer has gone off the rails with this match fixing stuff....because he is seriously one of the best young cricketers in the world coming through....such a shame for pakistan and world cricket in general

Sehwag (been in awesome form this year. Record speaks for itself)
Watson (pretty dominant in a poorly performing team)
Amla (just continues to make runs. Doesn't look pretty, but doesn't look like getting out)
Tendulkar (just awesome)
Sangakkara (great player, right up there with Tendulkar and Sehwag as the best atm)
Jayawardene (class player)
Dhoni (not a great player. But there's not really any other keepers who deserve a spot)
Vettori (absolutely carries NZ. With bat and ball)
Swann (just over Harbhajan. But a really good year)
Steyn (performed all over the world)
Khan (best left arm bowler in the world by a long way. Deadly swing bowler on Indian pitches)

Pity about Amir.

Sehwag
Sangakarra
Amla
Tendulkar
Jayawardene
Kallis
Watson
Vettori
Swann
Khan
Steyn

12th- Broad

Sangakarra can keep, and open.

Two all rounders in Watson and Kallis mean two spinners, Vettori and Swann, who are different.

Who does Douggie have to screw to get into these teams?
Last 12 months: 10 matches, 47 wickets @ 22

Virender Sehwag
Graeme Smith
Kumar Sangakarra
Jacques Kallis
Sachin Tendulkar
Shane Watson
M. S. Dhoni (+)
Graeme Swann
Dale Steyn
Mohammad Aamer
Mohammad Asif
12th - Zaheer Khan

That's if Asif and Aamer are allowed to return to International cricket. I hope so, they are both sensational bowlers.

Swap Tendulkar and Kallis and you have it spot on.
