View Full Version : Jako On Talking Footy Tonight
My wife says Jako will be on Talking Footy tonight. Now shes not very Footy saavy so I have my doubts. Probably turn out to be Wayne Jackson.
GO EAGLES!
What on earth would he be doing in Melbourne still? Id have thought he'd have gone back to Perth with the rest of the boys.
Just watched Talking footy. What an asset to the club Jako is. He came across very well imo. Loved to hear him talk about his love of the club, of Malthouse, of woosha and sumich. Its nice to know that such love for our club exists amongst the players. He was very honest when it came to talking about the captaincy and Im glad he knows that he still has alot of respect amongst the player group!
They asked him about the possibility of him playing on Carey this weekend. He said he'd love the opportunity to play on his arch rival. Id love to see it too but unfortunately I dont think Woosha will risk it. Itd be great if it happened and he beat Carey though wouldnt it?
Id love to see him go out with one last premiership before he retires, so he leaves the club the same way it was when he was at his best and the club was at its best too.

yea Jako was absolutely brilliant tonight - he's a very good speaker, and it was pretty interesting.
I guess to people outside of the Eagles they probably wouldn't have cared, much like I haven't cared for any of the other TF on the couch this year (with the exception of Aaron Hamill - i thought that was a magnificent interview).
Jako still my favourite player, but sometime soon I'll have to find a new one :(:(:(

he basically said he was very dissapointed when he didn't get it, but the pain barely lasted an hour when he realized it was for the good of himself and the club.
In the end, it was pretty 50/50 at the time as to who got the captaincy, but we definetaly took the right option. Jako is still performing well but doesn't have the impact a skipper needs to have on a game anymore......

He said he actually thanked the club because he now realizes that the club did him a favour because its alot of extra responsibility and he's glad he can just think about his footy now. He said he thought Cuzz did a good job. He said he was dissapointed on not getting the job but got over it in like an hour. He said he still likes to play a leadership role around the club and that he's gratefull for the players respect.

Yeah Im gunna miss Jako when he retires. Im going to cry so much! Hopefully not for another 2 or 3 years though!
Everybody loves Jako but since the knee reco, he's never been the same sadly. I can't really see how he fits in next season if McDougall, Gaspar and Staker are firing.

I dont agree, I believe he still has alot to offer the team. He's shown that he can play CHF quite well on any given day. Plus he is a great leader around the club and his work ethic and attitude are somethings that we can do with.

Good old jako never lets us down.
I think jako when he first came back from the knee reco was struggling but in the last couple of seasons id say hes been back to his best. Jako is also my favourite he is an absolute professional. Shame i missed the show!
GO JAKO

Jakovich went from being one of the best players in the AFL (Sheahan named him at #1 in his pre-season top 50 in 1996), to being a good player. He has been a fantastic player and leader at the club, but he never returned to his pre-knee form :(

Ive seen him play almost as good as he used to since the knee reco but I agree, never quite the same!
They also asked him if he played any role in keeping Judd at the club. He said he took him out to lunch a few times :D:D:D

Matera's Cafe ? :D
Jako was very good on TF. I never realised how good a public speaker he was - definately a job in the media a possibility.
Loved the way he was so honest about everything Tim, Carro and Bruce fired at him - although I don't want Jako to play on Carey just "for old times" sake. Jako's role is at CHF - let Ayres move Carey onto him.

Matera's cafe, could have been good.....Judd orders the fettucini carbonara and before it gets sent out one of the chefs in instructed to write with parmasen cheese on the top of the food: PLEASE STAY JUDD! :D:D
Definately think he'll be EXCELLENT in the media once he retires.
I agree with you GoEagles wouldnt it be nice if Jako kicked 3 goals in the first quarter and Ayres sends Carey down back after that, only to see Jako kick another goal and take a few marks in the HF line. Itd be a ****er to see Carey follow Jako around. Every time Carey did something itd be even more funny if Jako said to him....hey this thing your trying on me now, it wont work.....
Carey replys with: How do you know? Jako: Oh I tried it on you back in 1997 remember? Carey: Oh no! You did too, sorry about that mate...now lets see....
