Probably not thread worthy but I can't work out who I'm thinking of...

I believe he opened for Australia for a short time. I believe he had red hair and wore glasses whilst batting (not shades - glasses to help you see).

Anyone?

So fast - thanks guys.

Not being an avid cricket follower I thought he was Marcus North... until I saw Marcus North. What happened to Rogers, just didn't go on with it?

Moved to Victoria which is the end of anyones international career ;)

Basically WA wouldnt let him play one day cricket so he lost his CA contract, moved to Victoria, dominated in all forms and won the OD player of the year for the country but now has suffered a few injuries in recent years but allegedly never was a hope due to the Brad Hodge syndrome

Yeah moved to Victoria and scored about 2000 FC runs in two seasons, numerous big one day centuries, etc. Never really warranted selection of course.

There were also rumours that he didn't get on well with certain people high in the food chain. Scored tons of runs in the County comp too, wonder if he'll qualify for a Kolpak soon?

Didn't he crack the shits at the aussie selectors at some stage as well?

Hodge-esque.

Having a pretty good opening pair probably has something to do with it, too. Got stuck behind Phil Hughes in the queue due to some people's ridiculous need for youth over the sort of sustained performance that Rogers had.

Another one to add to that pile is Phil Jaques.

Seemed like a nice guy but I never really warmed to him as a favourite player. Regardless, his Test record was pretty damn good. Can't believe, in hindsight, that he's faded as quickly as he has.

Made scores of 4 and 15 in his only Test.

ATM, Phil Hughes is also in that category. He's got age on his side though.
