Article bout some AFL teams going it alone and breaking their affiliation to VFL teams. The article makes no mention of the hawks/Box Hill partnership but does say some teams are happy to keep it going. I think I'd like them to stay on together. Good the hear the 12/10 player rule is going.

Hawks r'ship with Box Hill is extremely healthy, and we see it as a long term relationship.

2010 was a frustrating year for BHH due to 12 HFC players taking the spots of BHH youngsters in the seniors and continually underperfroming. This was complemented by a chnage in gameplan early in the year, which created issues at BHH.

Seeing more than 12 HFC players in the BHH squad next year will be detrimental to the BHH listed players who will be thrown into the development squad, even though they are performing better than most of the HFC listed players. This will cause angst and frustration for traditional stangers supporters, who may feel that we will win more games with the best team on the park rather than 'carrying' HFC listed players like stokes, dowler and morton all year like 2010.

Personally, i enjoy our BHH r'ship and surely it will not end, look at the new pavilion? where else can you drink $4 carlton draughts and kick the footy at half time.

Keep the BHH - HFC going!

im concerned that the 12/10 rule will lead to a repeat of the 2003 grand final, where williamstown loaded up with AFL players (some who had barely played a VFL game all season) whilst box hill had basically an EFL team

MM and Go Hawks. I understand what your saying about the 12/10 rule but there has to be some benefit in this relationship for the HFC. It has to be for the development of the HFC listed players. I agree that the Box Hill player will prob suffer, but sadly I think the change will be good for the HFC.

After reading GH's post i tend to agree. The Box Hill side should be picked on merit similar to what will be happening at the HFC this year (as has been mentioned). This would avoid problems with the Box Hill listed players and possibly improve relationships between the Box Hill and HFC listed players. It will be better for HFC listed players as well. If you are not good enough to play firsts build your confidence up in the reserves and press for selection just like everyone else there are no golden passes. (except for HFC members :D)
