The continuation from 'Could have been and would have been' from Lloyd's 'insider' last month. Good laugh I thought! ;)

Last week we had a look at some of the 'could have been' stars in other sports at Essendon. This week we will take a light-hearted look at the 'want to be stars' and there are plenty of them.

Joe Misiti – Cricket. Joe firmly believes he would have played cricket for Australia but there is precious little evidence to support his claims. He still lives on a couple of reasonable performances for the Essendon Cricket Club Under 16 Dowling Shield side. Joe has knocked up a few centuries for Keilor but I’m told the bowling attacks weren’t exactly world class.

Mark McVeigh – Surfing. Really all spike can only boast that he once had the surfy-style haircut and that he lived near a beach. A world class surfer that does not make him. We hear plenty about his surfing exploits but once again there is little to suggest he acutally would have been a real presence on the world tour.

Mark Harvey – Cricket. Is definitely kidding himself. Thought he was a tearaway quick as a young bloke - has actually compared himself to Brett Lee. The blonde hair would probably be the only thing they had in common. I faced him once and belted him out of the attack with a couple of boundaries and I wouldn't class myself as a great batsman. That says plenty about Harv's bowling ability.

Sean Wellman – Fisherman. Seems to think he could end up doing a Rex Hunt-style fishing shows when his football days are over. He tells us that Bombers Backyard has given him a real insight into what lies ahead for him. He claims he holds some sort of fishing record in South Australia but can't produce anything to verify the claim.

Kevin Sheedy - Cricket. Sheeds believes only football prevented him from blazing a trail which Shane Warne could follow. A leg-spinner with Prahran, Sheeds tells us he had every delivery in the book. He has been known to go and roll the arm over with Essendon Cricket Club during training sessions but has spent a lot of time fetching the ball from the other side of the ground.

efc

LOL :p

snip...
Tell Lloydy to do some better research. Misiti plays for Keilor Park not Keilor .

Played against Joe and didn't think he was that good with the bat, but he smashed our thirds around one day and made a big ton.
