Draft History: 1998 National AFL Draft 4th round selection (West Coast) No. 57 overall.

Awards:
AFL Rising Star nominee 2000
International Rules series 2004
Norm Smith medallist 2006
West Coast premiership player 2006

Bio: An outstanding wingman for ten years for the Eagles, provides great run and carry, and averages almost a goal a game. Offensively minded, Embley provides great veteran leadership and is always working hard on the footy field. Norm Smith medallist for 2006 and always looking to run, I bestow on him the nickname 'Who Run It'

2010: 2010 was another solid year for Andrew, doing what Andrew Embley does best. Averaging roughly 24 possessions and 2 tackles a game, Embley kept plugging away in a poor season. Disposal issues have been his concern in 2010. Although now getting on in age, look to Embley to have a even greater impact in games, as the Eagles rise from the ashes of their failures.

Possibly the best pick #57 ever.

Possibly the best pick #57 ever.

wasn't he the only successful player for us to come out of that draft?

one of the greatest Eagles to pull on the jumper, not only that but a great person, he personaly took the time out after the port game here in adelaide last year to have chat and photo with me, great player and great man.

#10 Brandon Hill
#26 Michael Obrien
#69 Scott Bennett
#89 Joel Duckworth

Yes... lol

We did upgrade Fletcher that year, but obviously drafted him earlier than 1998.

What really sucks... Pick #11 Lenny Hayes, we really did fk up that draft there were allot of good players we could of nabbed. Fevola for instance would of fit right in down at West Coast at the time.

Andrew Embley in the first 4 games has been in 2006 Norm Smith Medal form. After absolutely dominating Port Adelaide, he's slowed down slightly, but not by much. For Andrew Embley, there is only one gear. Max Power.

In his first 4 games, he's averaging:
26 disposals per game
6.25 tackles per game
1.75 goals per game

This aging veteran has seemingly turned into some fine wine and is getting better as he ages. Seems to have barely lost a step or pace at all and looks to be one of the most dangerous Wingers in the competition at this time. Of course, stat's aren't everything, but Embley certainly looks asthetically pleasing as he's blazing away from packs on the wings.

People weep and despair. You all passed on him, however I took the club champion knowing that he would become good again. Okay so maybe I didn't know he would be in such good form, but here's to him continuing to dominate the opposing fools in the AFL :thumbsu:

Has been really poor of late. Hope he gets back to his early season form quickly and in time for finals.

Really poor? No.

Sure he hasn't been winning games off his own foot like the start of the season but he's been contributing solidly most weeks.

Considering the talent he has and how we know he can play, yes he has been really poor. I compare players within themselves, not against team-mates. He plays best as a running, goal impacting player and that's disappeared.

Huh? He was great yesterday.

The hair was in full flight again last week against Carltank. After having a quiet game vs Collingwood, again imposed himself on the contest with his run and spread, picking up 28 possessions and winning several key contests. Subiaco roars when Embley is in full flight along the wings, carrying the Eagles on his manly shoulders and boofy hair.
