At the risk of sounding like a knob, our recent experiences only confirm my credos that:

1. You should always take it one week at a time

2. Your best 22 is the 22 that takes the field, there's no point in making excuses about injuries, umpires or anything else. At the end of the day, they're just that - excuses.

3. When the intensity lifts in H&A and even more in Finals, you need a "go to" player who can take a mark.

4. Accountable footy is good footy.

5. Modern footy is won in the midfield - without run - ie pace and endurance - you can't beat the top teams

I just hope that next week we can prove one of the oldest cliches - that 18 players having a red hot go at Australian Rules Footy can beat anybody on their day.

Thats right. Look at W.B against us.. who would have thought theyd draw with WCE? Nobody! Footy is a pshycological thing too. If u go out thier with a positive attitude u can win games. If your hungry enough ( like Brisbane against the Pies - mite i add WHOOOO..suk on that Eddie), u can win games.
I think that coz we have some key players out the boys think they can win, but they can!!! Hope the boys can turn the past two disasterous weeks around.

Yep agree with all those. The last 4 weeks we have lacked that crucial player that can lift the side. The lack of accountability of our midfield is disturbing - this is not helped by our skill level in the last few weeks. When we have the ball we run off to create, then comes a bad turnover and the opposition is free.

In fact we have really only played about 3-4 good quarters out of 16 in the last 4 weeks.

Port killed us all day, Hawks we played a good 2nd half, Saints we fought back for 15mins, and yesterday we were competitive for about a half. Not a good sign running into the finals BUT as you so wisely state VOR,

lets take it one week at a time, and beat the Cats this week!!!!

Accountability ... what really disappointed me yesterday was the ease that blokes got into space in the midfield on so many occasions. I always understood that two goals in a row meant you manned up.

Skills on display were a bit ordinary.

And go-to players ... gee whiz, we miss Embley. Whoops, broke rule 2.

PS: Good day today for you VoR, anyway.

You can say that again - we had an absolute ball.
