He could struggle. The EFL is a very high standard competition.

Bear in mind he didn't set the world on fire playing in the BH development team during of 2009.

For a man who has an aversion to playing in front, he won't get many easy kicks.

Yes mate i know but you must remember he had big wraps on him as a kid. He lacks confidence in himself and his own body. Self belief can never be over estimated. He will most probably play FF in the EFL a position he played well in as a junior.

He has talent we saw that during the 2009 season especially at the end of 2009 in the game against the bombers. You are probably referring to this year 2010 in your post. A year which by the end he was on a hiding to nothing. The coaching staff had given up on him and his motivation was probably down the proverbial S Hole. He completely lost all semblance of being a footballer by the end.

Like i said all things being equal he should do well but then it depends on where his head is at.

It is good to hear someone being objective about Dowler. He undoubtedly had talent and I hope he regains his self belief in the EFL.

I understand that he had a reasonable year playing in defence and 'hardened up'. If he can get his mind and body strength right he'd be elite. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make something of this chance.

My understanding is that Beau struggled at full forward and was shifted to defence as a last-ditch effort to save his season. He then made a good fist of it.

Good luck to Dowler with his second chance. He didn't make the most of his opportunities at Hawthorn, but I wonder how much of that was down to his introverted nature and how much of that was down to the coaches.
