i'm guessing most bomber fan's read this and have though 'ooo here we go another ****baggin of Lloydy and getting soft frees' but it's actually quite the opposite.

I know the amount of free kicks is not a clear cut way to show how well looked after a player is from the umps, but since and including 1998, Lloyd has recieved 117 frees, whilst giving away 148.

And he in fact, in only one season finished on the right side of the free kick ledger. That was 2002, when he recieved 17, and gave away 15, but so far this year is on the right side, leading 15-14.

Nothing really important, but just helping out you Bomber fan's to help point some people in the right direction to all those people who constantly complain about Lloyd being looked after by the umps.

No doubt he does get some soft ones, but no more than any other, and he does dive a bit, but I think generally he is no better off the any other forward is.

I think his early career diving (i think he is getting a little better) is actually part of the reason he is on the wrong side of the ledger. He was labelled a 'diver' by Geishan so the umpires were a little hesitant to pay a free kick unless it was completely blatent.

plus he used to give away a lot of free kicks for high tackles. He's much better now but in the past he used to tackle high on almost every occasion.

and your thoughts are appreciated BT

I used those stats as evidence on the main board, but the majority of peanuts there wouldn't have it.

Sure he dived, and had an akward technique when he was younger, but thanks to that **** sucker gieschen, everyone thinks that he's a outright diver.

Earlier on in his career, he was smashed around a fair bit by bigger ****s like martyn, and got nothing. Hence he got bigger and more physical, and that explains the sudden increase in his free kicks against.

I was aware this must have been the case, but most people won't believe me when I tell them anyway. Their problem, not mine. They can think what they want. There's just a lot of ridiculous hype about his diving - like he's the only player that has ever done it or something.
