Hi gang,
Sorry I've not been able to tell you this
earlier, as my computer has had to be taken away
because of two ready nasty viruses.
Anyway, this is the latest to all of you coming
up to Brisbane.
I have finally been able to contact Trinette @
the Lions. She has processed our application for
tickets (I hope). They will be available for ONE
PERSON ONLY to pick them up from the Lions Match
Day office at Gate 7 at the Gabba (Vulture St
side of the ground).
Now, as I'll be the person having to pick up the
tickets, I'll be wanting EVERYBODY to get to the
ground at the same time so I can distribute those
tickets.
Alex Evans has taken the banner up on the plane
today. He'll be poling it with the Lions CS
tomorrow at 1pm.
He said to give him enough time to get everything
happening with setting up the flags, and getting
the banner organised he'll be wanting to be
inside the ground as of 10.30am.
So EVERYBODY, please be at the Lions Office at
10:30am SHARP! What you do after you have
received your tickets is up to you.? Maybe a few
of us want to go and have a feed somewhere? But I
do not want to have to be waiting forever for
stragglers, as I'll be in work mode and will be
wanting to get things done once I arrive at the
ground.
If you know you are going to be late, PLEASE call
me on 0438 890 490. I do not want the predicament
where I am having to try and get people in when
I'm out on the field with the banner. As you'll
be waiting outside to get in. I simply have
enough to do as it is.
Plus I'll be having to run a gauntlet through the
throngs of people heading to their seats and get
you after the banner has come down, and will NOT
happy to be missing the footy either. I'll be
stressed enough as it is with having
responsibility for the banner. So be on-time (or
at least call me) or cop a tongue-lashing from
me, Ok!
Having got that out of the way, may I feel you
all in on what is planned. Annette has booked a
table for 8 at Chez Laila Lebanese restaurant
(Gabba end of Southbank right by the river) for
7pm. Call me for directions, as I got horribly
lost last year.
What we do after the game can be decided once we
are safely inside the ground.
To those coming up, bring the flags I've given
you, and your voices. And let's have an even more
cult day of singing than we ended up having last
year. Hopefully the Barmy Army will be right
behind us, so there will be plenty of one-liners
and taunts flying around.
cheers and see you in Bris-Vegas!
JF
PS:- Apparently it has been hitting 29 degrees up
there of late. So wear cool clothes, with white
advisable. Also behind the goals at the Gabba is
terrible with the sun, so BRING A HAT! I'll be
bringing another Swans hat if anyone forgets one.
cheers, and everyone.
Julie the Cruise Director.
