Noticed on the Giants Facebook page the club mentions there are 3 jumper designs with the official one to be unveiled at the NAB Cup on Feb 19. I like this one I just noticed from training pics in the Blacktown Advocate. What do others think?

Alright - good pickup!
So sow we have the 'White G', the 'Orange & Charcoal' and the 'Saints Style' jumpers. TBH I am not too impressed with these new jumpers. But I like the idea.. I think the Giants' colour combination could work really well on a traditional strip, but perhaps not that one - and particularly not the Saints one because the only real difference between jumpers is orange instead of red.

A charcoal strip with a orange V with white lines around the V would be good, or a 'geelong style' with a orange strip and alternating white and charcoal hoops. Or a 'sash' strip with orange on the top, a white diagonal sash, then charcoal underneath.

I like it! :thumbsu:

It doesn't matter that it looks like the Saints strip. No-one complains that the Essendon strip is just a red version of the Richmond strip or vice versa.

Traditional is always best when it comes to jumper design and I hope they go for this one.

Is there any chance this could become the official jumper or is it just for training?

I much prefer this one to the others!:thumbsu:

I think there's a chance it will be an official jumper.
You have to consider that the Giants will have 3 (maybe 4) official playing gurnseys, the home jumper (maybe 'white G') the Canberra jumper (the 'saints style') an away jumper ('charcoal G') and a clash jumper, which could be predominantly white..

I hope they are just training jumpers, it looks exactly like St. Kilda!

It's not just like the Saint's one though - theirs is Black, White, Red, where ours is Orange, White, Charcoal..
I think it looks pretty horrorshow, yet when I look at it I think that they should have gone a bit further.. How 'bout a strip with the right half orange, the left half black, with a white 'v' shape on the chest?
It's going to be a hard decision which one to get when I go to the merchandise tent!!

where ours is Orange, White, Charcoal.

Not so much white as silver/pale grey. I think it's the same colour the club has been using as a secondary colour on other stuff...

(on a side note, anyone think Choco has been enjoying the good life lately? :))

Anyone else annoyed at how badly the back matches up?
Still the white g jumper for me.

This one is actually really good. Better than that crappy white G one everyone seems to like but I hate.

that is ironic because the White G guernsey has the worst back match up of them all...

This might have been real obvious to everyone else, but I just viddied something I 'adn't noticed before.
This new design is the only one which DOESN'T have an orange back..
Which leads me to conclude that it will probably be used as a clash / alternate jumper, like, against sides with red / yellow / brown on their backs..
Teams with black / white / blue backs I think we'll wear one of the other, more orange designs against.

lol @ chocco

I like the colour-scheme of GWS - very earthy with the orange and charcoal

Anyone know what jumper they are going to use on Saturday yet?

Surely they can't wear that Saints jumper?

Mr Eagle

One thing to note about the "Gi-aints" jumper - the numbers aren't the AFL standard. So that set at least can't be worn on gameday.

Great traditional jumper. :thumbsu:

Folau looked the part wearing that jumper in yesterday's Australian.

It's better than the fried egg the Suns will wear against us in round two.

I'm guessing the Giants will adopt the white G jumper as their clash jumper?

They will probably have to be wear it against the Eagles and Saints.

But not against Carlton, Port, Brisbane and Adelaide as the away team.

true but think about it: Essondon/Richmond, Hawthorn/Collingwod/Nth M, (Geelong/Adelaide, Melbourne/Port kinda.) all have similar jumpers.

Solid orange, charcoal G and side strips. Looks good out on the field.

Also Gold Coast's home and GWS' secondary home guernsey are both the exact same thing with different colours and their respective logos in the centre.

The best GWS jumper tonight was the orange one easily.

Mr Eagle
20 Feb 2011, 18:28
The orange stands out like mutt's nuts, I can understand why they've made the backs all orange for both jumpers.

Thought the 'Canberra' on the backs looked awkward. There's got to be a better way to do that in future. Maybe have GWS-ACT-SNSW to acknowledge all of the team's feeder areas.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed if the whole 'Canberra' written on their backs is all they're going to do for their ACT gurnsey..
Ah well, there's no reason they can't come up with better designs between now and the 2012 season.
