I have a theory about this song.
Excuse me if it's way off beam.

I think it's a condemantion of George W. Bush and his policies.

The White House is clearly shown at the start. Abraham Lincoln, one of the supposedly more free thinking presidents, is used as the face of the film clip. However, it is George Bush the song targets.
His war mongering and his anti-gay marriage policies.
They're taking the **** out of him.

I don't think I've expressed this theory very well, but to me it makes sense.
Anyone else got any ideas?

I heard an interview with the lead singer, he said he misunderstood a song's lyrics for "gay bar" but when he found out they weren't the real lyrics he said "i'll write a song about a gay bar!" or something:p

They sure are. Having listened to the whole album, they dont particularly strike me as in-depth political analysts. Pretty much every song is about "fire" and "nuclear war" :p

there was a clip floating around the net featuring video of bush and blair, cut up so it looked like they were singing the song
