Before I am carted of to Glenside and given prozac and shock treatment I am going to
MOVE ON
I am going to push that terrible game aside and focus on the next couple of weeks.
I have a showdown ticket and by cricky I am going to go and support, yell and scream to get those boys over the line. I am going to take my radio listen to the broadcast and ignore the ferals around me. :D :D
It aint over yet - where there is life there is hope and we still have a heart beat - although it faded a little yesterday - the blood pressure is back up and the heart is pounding away.
Smile people at least we will make the finals - there are 8 teams who won't and at the end of they day you have to be in it to win it - and we WILL be in it!
k
xx
Give us a couple of more days of cussing & cursing & i might join you,
movin on i mean,:)

Am I the only person who was over yesterday yesterday?!
Go South and I went out last night and towards the end of the night we realised we'd lost and thought "oh ****" and carried on drinking! :D

I think I better turn my attention to under age competition for the rest of the year.;)
Well, it ususally takes me until at least Wednesday, too, until I feel better.
But I can almost guarantee the Crows will play exactly the same way next Sunday as they did on Saturday.... as soon as I hear a commentator say that this is a crucial game for the Crows, I can almost bet they'll lose

Go out and support an SANFL team, the Sturt vs. West Adelaide game in Round 23 is going to be great! :D ;)

Speaking of the SANFL - bring back the five :(
On current form we'd destroy all these pretenders that sit above us come September

Nah, it's better without the five. It keeps sides like Norwood - who have been very average all season - out of the finals and then ruining any credibility it had. It'd be like South sneaking in on percentage or something stupid, and then get beaten by over 100 points the week later by a Central's.

Norwood have never had credibility - they won 1000 premierships in the 1800s and think they're a big club.

Hahaha. Truer words have never been spoken.
Well I'll be there supporting and backing the team next Sunday and beyond (it's not like I'm going to jump ship and follow the netball) but I have absolutely no faith, there is no life in this team, and there is simply no hope.
It's like lambs to a slaughter.

That's the attitude k. Sure the loss is very dissapointing, but its not the end of the world. It's no surprise that everyone, including myself, is in a lull, but we'll get over it.
Perhaps some of our comments were exaggerations of our low mood. Just give it some more time.
What's a negative attitude going to do, other than push us on the way down?

Well positive attitudes have only seemed to overinflate egos and raise expectations to, quite simply, unattainable levels.....right now I'm in blissful reality, comfortable in the knowledge we're also-rans.

Ah, but there's a bit, in fact huge, difference between being positive and becoming arrogant in big egos and having too high expectations.
'Also-rans'? What's that? As in has beens?? It's far from over mate. OK, so these past few weeks haven't been great, but it just shows what can happen in a short space of time in top level sports. The reverse can still happen for us to, you know. Everything could still fall in our favour if we win next week. It's still possible. So chin up.

In terms of egos there, I was referring to those of the players. Everyone has been talking us up, we have started to believe our own press. The ****weak performance on the weekend illustrated this.

Don't think you quite understand.....it IS over....maybe not technically, because the season is not actually over and as such 'we're still in it, we still have a shot, anything can happen in football, you never know etc.' However, everyone can plainly see we have NO realistic shot and are simply making up the numbers.
I'll be at the game cheering us on, supporting the boys but like almost everyone, I know the writing is on the wall. It's over.

hold up!
Norwood won a lot up until the end of the 1984 season, and then Port just happened to have a few good seasons... Up until that point, Norwood almost had as many flags as Port... Even discounting the pre-1900 flags, we still have a fair few, and are a proud club.
;) Sorry, that's my red'n'blue side coming out

Ant - nice work.
I think we lost deliberatley
When we win next week we will finish fourth and get to play the biggest finals chokers in history in the first week.
Collingwood finish 2nd or third and win in the first week so we get a home prelim final, hopefully against Essendon
We then beat Brisbane in the granny.
Premiership is there for the taking.
We will anihialate Port this week. You read it first here.

Well I choose to be optomistic. I wish I could go back and change what happened on Saturday but it isn't possible so the only thing I can do is look forward to this week. Showdowns are always close games no matter what so I do give us a chance. We would certainly want to lift from last weekend but I know we can do it. If we play our best we can beat anyone.
Don't give up on them just yet!
