I thought this was needed after so much negativity around here.
In a fortnight's time our showdown record will improve from the current pathetic scoreline of 4-9 to a more respectable 6-9.

Enough of this 'let's feel sorry for ourselves because we could lose a top 4 position' mentality. We don't have time for that.

I've got some positivity for yas, the Nth Melb loss could be a blessing as you may well finish 6th and get to avoid playing Brisbane or Port until the GF being on the Collingwood side of the draw.

If we finish 6th and win, we'd probably play the loser of Brisbane/Collingwood, and then we'd probably play Port.
I think you're thinking of 5th position. Where a win would see us play whoever loses to Port in the first week - West Coast or Sydney - and if we win that we'd play the winner of Collingwood/Brisbane in the preliminary.

I was thinking say if Port and Coll finish 1 and 2,
Bris 3rd.
Say Port and Coll went throught to the Prelim, you guys would play the loser out of Port and 4th and then if won that play Coll in the prelim while Port and Bris play out the other.
I actually thought I typed 5th not 6th.

I am looking forward to the showdown. I know we can win, we just need to get back into form.
Whatever happens, we are in the finals and that is all that matters. We can't control our destiny, all we can do is win and hope for the best.
It's not over yet - not by a long shot!

We lost control when we lost on Saturday. We have 1 more chance to win before the finals and yes - that will help - but we still need other teams to win/lose to work out where we will finish.
To give ourselves the best chance - we need to win the showdown.

It was an amazing thing walking out of the ground on Saturday after that debacle.
I'm sure that like myself, the majority of supporters felt betrayed by the players and the team that they support.
Never have I heard the F... word used so many times and in such a vocal manner by so many supporters at so many players and situations as I did after the game.
