This was my favourite ever Roys match.

I won't give you the whole low-down, but here are some excerpts :

Fitzroy v Melbourne
Melbourne had a 27 point lead at half time, scored the first goal of the third quarter, and we looked to be stuffed.

Fitzroy then turned on a blinder, to end up winning by, I think, 42 points. I believe it was a 10 goal to 3 third term.

Osborne kicked 11, 6 in the third quarter. Bringing up his tenth (his last of the third quarter) also brought up his, umm, I think, 300th career goal. He disposed of three opponents, one of them twice.

Roos and Lynch each kicked 4, I think.

A kick out on the full gave Strawbs O'Dwyer a free, he flattened Bundy Rendell after the play and the kick was reversed. Loved that.

O'Dwyer, running into an open goal, suffered Jason Hi-Fi Baldwin, who leapt onto his feet to smother. It was about Baldwin's 3rd or 4th game.

Always sits in my memory as the grousest comeback.

Ossie woulda kicked 100 that year if he'd remained vertical.
