The point is that Fitzroy Football club do not play in the AFL.
They are HISTORY

Now how about you Fitzroy sooks getting behind a local club that needs your support and leaving Fitzroy to the history books.

The point is that Fitzroy Football Club played in the VFL/AFL for a hundred years and was in that competition longer than North, Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs, West Coast Eagles, Fremantle, Port Adelaide and Adelaide. University were in the comp. for four years and the Bears for ten years....so please don't drag that old argument out.

You really have no idea what you are talking about do you? Fitzroy supporters do currently support local teams. The Fitzroy Reds in the Vic Amateurs and the Fitzroy Juniors are but two. Fitzroy is looking at setting up an U/19 team and we were involved in the VFL last year in conjunction with Coburg and may have our own stand-alone side called 'Fitzroy' in the VFL at some point in the very near future, perhaps as soon as 2002.

Also many of us support the Brisbane Lions, who in conjunction with the FFC will be launching the 'Fitzroy team of the Century' later in the year, . This is expected to have wide TV and print media coverage. Also I have been told by a FFC director, that the AFL's celebration of the centenary of Federation may involve a Fitzroy presence...in some shape or form...I don't know the details as yet.

So Fitzroy is involved still with the AFL, although indirectly.

If you have a problem with this "stupid board", don't visit......as you obviously have nothing of value to contribute anyway.

It's the actual, serious, wondering why we are this way, and thinking that we've missed some elusive truth that, once explained will educate us into locking that heart's door behind which lies the beating Roy, that makes me shake my noggin in pity.
