So....what does everyone think about the game this week?

Just heard the forecast Joel , 18 , fine, but windy. We have had the wood over your boys for a while now, but while we were having our stand out period we never thumped you. But then with collingwood coming good we have handed them a couple of beltings. Tricky one. Us by 7 points.

Been feeling strangely confident ( i was very worried about freo ), but by Fri afternoon i'll prolly start worrying...

Very happy with our form, hopefully will get over the line. 24 points.

I think we will win.

We are playing very well at the moment and hitting our greatest form of the season at the right time. Wellman and Fletcher expected to be back. We are going to be very strong. I think We will win from 15-30.

Go BOMBERS.

I think it will be the closest game we've had since 95.

I'm still dirty i didnt get in that day. I was one of the 15,000 locked out. If you ever want a reason why anzac day should always by ess V coll just get a copy of that game. Bloody sensational.

Hard to pick.

It'll either be very close and hard-fought, or one side will blow the other out of the water in the third quarter.

Both sides look to be hitting a patch of form at the right time of the season...a few weeks ago, i wouldnt have been very confident of us coming out on top, but after the last couple of weeks, i think we will run out winners by about 4 goals.

surprisingly, like most of you...i am quietly confident. I know i have no real reason to feel confident against the inform maggies...however I do take into consideration both teams run...and i think the pies have used alot of energy over the past few weeks in defeating the crows and the swans. I reckon the bombers pace will worry them, and with the youngsters hitting a purple patch, the matchups and class midfield of the dons will worry the maggies. Dons by 3 goals for me.

go dons :D

I think they'll win, just.

But I also said that anzac day. So who cares what I think.

The latter, and Essendon, unfortunately.:(

Holland has just been handed a 2 week suspension... He pleaded guilty, provacation, blah, blah, blah, blah....
Malthouse gave a (shock, horror) glowing character reference...

The bombers to win this one by four goals, and the pies to be left wondering about effects the night conditions will have on their hair. Shampoo anyone?
2 weeks for Holland is a joke!

Yep, I think this will be a really close game.

Cupido, Wellman have been ruled out. Rioli is unlikely.

Sorry, I meant to say Cupido has been ruled out (Ch 7 News), I think I got it into my head for some reason that Wellman wasn't playing wither (must have been a post somewhere else). Wellman and Rioli might not play, it is unknown at this stage. However, I think Wellman and Rioli will play.

Cupes didnt provide any magic last week and we won by 10 goals :p Harvey could emulate some of the magic cupido has done this season if given the chance

Cupido in doubt for Vic showdown

Essendon goalsneak Damian Cupido is an unlikely starter for Friday night’s Victorian showdown against Collingwood at the MCG.

Cupido and midfielder Dean Rioli were both absent from the Bombers’ training session at Essendon Grammar on Wednesday afternoon and coach Kevin Sheedy was typically cagey about the reasons for their absence.

Asked if Cupido and Rioli would play against the Magpies, Sheedy replied: “They’ll probably get there in the end, maybe. Cupido, I’m not sure.

“I think Cupido could be out injured with a quad and Rioli is just not great today.”

Cupido is believed to have suffered a quad strain late in the game against Fremantle at Telstra Dome last Saturday and his chances of playing seemed to reduce, the longer Sheedy’s media conference at training progressed.

“As far as I’m concerned he’ll be off the track and we best look at someone else,” the coach continued.

Sheedy nominated Cory McGrath, who was dropped from the team prior to the Fremantle game, as the most likely replacement for Cupido.

“We could bring in Cory McGrath. He deserves his opportunities. He’s been a good player for us when he’s played.”

In better news for the Dons, key defenders Dustin Fletcher and Sean Wellman both trained strongly and look set to return from injury against the Magpies.

Fletcher missed last week after the ankle injury he suffered earlier in the season flared up, while Wellman has been on the sidelines for the past two matches with a back-related hamstring injury.

Sheedy rated Fletcher as a better chance than Wellman of playing, but is confident that both will prove their fitness.

“I’m pretty sure he’ll play,” the coach said of Fletcher. “Yeah, I’d say 100 per cent (and) I don’t often say 100 per cent.”

Meanwhile, the veteran coach who regularly expresses his opinions on most football issues would not be drawn on the two-match ban handed to Collingwood tagger Brodie Holland by the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

Holland was suspended for striking Sydney star Paul Williams in a behind-the-play incident and there have been claims from some that the penalty was too light.

“I’m not worried about last night’s result,” Sheedy said. “It’s got nothing to do with us. We just mind our own business.”
