just saw on the news that a 3-year deal has been signed for him to play with us until the end of 2006!
Go Crows! :)
Great news.
What's his salary rumoured to be?
I note that he'll probably be on the veterans list in 2006. I hope we haven't done anything stupid like backload the contract Essendon style.

not sure of salary, but they said "The Crows are pleased with his loyalty, after he accepted the deal for less than what he may have received at another club...."
I think he's taken a cut of some sort...?

Dave, don't worry as Reidy isn't stupid! We keep our salaries in check at the Crows unlike some Victorian clubs.
Great news that Macca has signed on (probably for about $550K).
Now that burden has been lifted from his shoulders, he can get back to playing his best football - starting with the showdown.

Great stuff!! Exactly what the club needed this week.
My guess would be $550k as well Kane.

Hopefully now his future is assured we'll see slightly more from him than the sub-mediocre performances he's served up in recent weeks.

Took him a bloody while but great news none the less.
I wouldn't think that AFC would have commited to more than $500k-$550K a year.
Hopefully now he can play some good footy not the ccrap that he and the rest of the side have been serving up lately.

yippeeee!!!!! Big kisses for Macca :P
I knew it would happen, he wasn't going anywhere - he bleeds red, gold & blue.
I heard Triggy on the radio tonight and he said he had heard rumours of $600 - $650 plus and said they were not true. He also said he hear rumours of $550 and said they were not true either. He said Andrew could have gone interstate and gotten bigger money - but all credit to him - loyalty is more important than money.
Watch out for the performanace of a lifetime in the showdown!

Macca also said that there was no doubt that the prolonged negotiations were affecting his form. Now it's time to have the fully-motivated Macca back with the after-burners, starting with the Showdown.

Have we signed Biglands? Is there anyone else on the Crows list currently uncontracted?

I think the rest of the blokes out of the contract are the likes of Doughty, Gallagher, Marsh, Schuback, Hentschel etc. Few are trade bait and the likes of Hentschel and Schuback will sign up pretty quickly I reckon.

Biglands will be the next main target for re-signing for sure. He's a must.
The others will sign up pretty easily I would have thought.
Ben Marsh out of contract? Hmmm...now that's interesting.

No offence, but if that occurs, that's really ****ed. That concept just doesnt inspire me with any confidence at all. I dont think its a good situation for either party.

You're right but what can we do, we have no other reserve ruckman. Stiffy's right, Marsh'll be re-signed as an insurance policy.
