we give Rex Hunt a go at President.
I think it would be a great thing for the Richmond Football club
Rex loves his Tigers and loves his footy. Maybe the Tigers could give him a go. It would bring in money to the club (a bit like Eddie did for the Pies) and we probably would get more support.
Rex would still probably be able to call the games like Eddie does and do the fishing aswell as be president at the club.
Thoughts?

I don't know a thing about Mr Casey and it's more than likely all my fault because I've never bothered to chase up any info on him. Rex Hunt needs no research and would be more user freindly for the simple folk like me. ;)
Rex Hunt would not give up the trapings of his current life to be president.
It would also give another reason for KB not to come back.
He is a loudmouth who as a footy commentator was funny in the mid 90's.
BUT..... he might just make a good president.
I like your line of thinking but i would not like to see it but if his appointment as pres coincides with a rise of our fortunes then hell yes lets all go along for the ride.

I think you'll find that these, along with all his other business interests are the reasons why rex wouldn't take it on.
He himself has said as much.
I know eddie is able to translate his high public profile into hard currency for the CFC but whether rexy would have the same effect with the RFC......well maybe, but i dont think at this point we'll get to know.
Would i like him as president? ......probably not.... but only because i see no real reason for Casey to go,at this point at least.

I have already written to Rex about a month ago asking to at least stand for the board - still haven't received an answer.
I don't think it hurts to have a bit of a shake up when things aren't going well. Haven't heard a word from Casey all year until this week - mind you, some pretty good news with new sponsorships (don't know what they are yet). So Casey gets a big tick there.
He's appointed Miller - I'm happy with that.
But we do have a list to slash your wrists by, had two very disappointing years on the field, and people not turning up at matches. I will be very disappointed if we don't get a good turnout this Sunday - and Casey himself would have to question himself with what he's doing if Richmond people ignore the immense importance of paying tribute to Jack and stay away.
And we have a president who seems to rule behind closed doors. I want a president who will lead, show enthusiasm, stir the pot, not afraid to kick heads.
Rex is no dummy. He may act like a dill on the radio sometimes, but he is an astute businessman, he has played in premierships with Richmond, has been in an era when they were the most professional club going around, and that professionalism rubbed off on him where he is not only a successful businessman, but puts a lot of time into the community with his fishing foundation etc.
He is a passionate, intelligent man and he loves the Richmond Football Club - what more could you ask for.
The only negative - does he have the time with all the commitments he has. Who knows but Rex. But it would be a very satisfying exercise to be the person to turn this club around - I wonder if that's a big enough lure for Rex.

Listen I believe that a change at board level would be dangerous right now , changes have been put in place as in Miller and other off field moves that we should see a real benefit in such as recruiting and list management which up until now has been deplorable in Frawleys time.
In the current circumstances I couldnt see rex make the time, nor do I think he is a very good team man> Eddie has done a great job in attracting the very best peple to his club in all the drivers seats and look at the results ...
We have only began to make quantam changes , this first trade/draft period will be a good indication of how serious Miller is about turning the ship around
