Congrats to the dockers tonight. They were better then us for most of the night when we had our chance we blew it. Good luck next week in the finals.
Go eagles.
Definitely congrats to the Dockers. You didn't blow your chances and we definitely did. Definitely have to say that this Derby certainly lived up to the hype...
Hopefully the Crows can do the right thing and we can square up again next week! (Even more hopefully Port can win by 11+ goals, but that's another thing).

What an awesome game of footy. It had everything.
Was anyone here sitting in the three tier stand by any chance?

My congrats to the Dockers as well. It was a fantastic game and both sides went in hard. Well deserved victory - I just wish we could have taken a few more chances and made it a little closer in the end.
So a magnificent game of footy was spoiled by a sh*thouse result...........but I imagine there's a few on this board that may disagree with me....:D
Good luck in the finals

Quite a few of us Eags inhabit the 3 teir stand - absolutely awesome atmosphere wasnt it? I went to the Anzac Day game earlier this year, and although the G was porobably affected by the whopping great hole in the stand, I still think tonights Derby atmosphere was just as good.

Yes, yes I was - all game.
Many congratulations to the Dockers - that was a marvellous game and you played really well.
The slick transference of the ball in midfield and around the ground to get into a forward position was very impressive and I've got a lot of time for the defence. Woods in the last quarter was almost impassable. And Sandilands is unrecognisable (in ability terms) from the young lad who couldn't mark for East Fremantle just 2 years ago.
I was proud of the Eagles players last night - never gave up - and we were just beaten by a better team on the night. Well done.

Thanks guys, you guys are good sports. Yeh well theres no point in being sore losers about it! It was a good close game and the better team on the day won. Last night was sooo great for WA footy. It was fantastic, almost Grand Final like! Walking around shopping centres with people wearing their scarves and **** was funny, but i loved it! To see the passion that BOTH clubs have. It was brillant and fun too.
I mean u're gonna get the eagles fans who are gonna be like oh u guys suck and wateva and be sore losers, but they are just being dillusional. I can honestly say at first i was hell cut, crying, but u get over it and it was good to see a game like that. I mean under all the hostility and bitter slagging matches we all have had this week, a WA team won and thats enough for me!!!
Good luck to both sides in the finals!!! As long as its not a Port v Collingwood grand final il b one happy camper. ( big ego club vs. bigger ego club!)
Yes, well done Dockers.
Even though we lost I think I enjoyed that game more than any other derby there's been. (From the point of view of it being a great game, not the result!)
Even though it was so close most of the way, I always felt that Freo looked the team more likely to kick away by a couple of goals and ultimately that's what happened. A few straight kicks at the start of the fourth quarter and things would have been very interesting!
The thing that was unique about last night's game was that for the first time both teams desperately wanted to win, but they wanted to win for the four points and ladder position as the top priority rather than for "bragging rights" (god I hate that term!).
So they played it hard, but without just going and mindlessly belting each other, which made it a great game.
Adelaide leading Port at this stage, so maybe we can do it again next week!
If not, kick Essendon's butt clear into 2004!
