View Full Version : Farmer's injury
What Banfield did to Farmer is absolutely inexcusable.
He won't get reported for it, but I hope Freo get the chance to play the Wee Girls in the finals so they can square up with that bloody thug

Farmer injured himself diving for a free kick. It was a good tackle. It was one of those things. I hope Farmer is OK. I also note that I and the rest of the Eagles fans applauded Farmer off the ground on a stretcher and I didn't see or hear any stupidity from any Eagles fans over that incident.
Simmilarly, when McDougall was knocked stupid by Haselby, it was just an unfortunate incident. Take your two posts back to Tasmania, put them on a bandwagon and learn the game.

Have to agree with VoR here.... Farmer was being very closely checked, it seemed to be within the rules, he threw his arms out and the momentum of both players running for the ball took them forward. Yes, Banfield was on him and the knees in the back didn't look great , but it was Jeffrey's knees digging in the dirt as he threw the arms out that jarred his back.
Bloody shame, cos he's a great player and he was showing some of the magic that's earned him his nickname.
Bounce back Jeffrey - we need ya!!

Was listening to Ken Judge last night and he was disgusted that people would even suggest this!

It was a horrible incident, but certainly nothing sinister on Banfield's behalf.

He is a dirty thug only cause he plays for the eagles. But the wiz has to take responsability for the injury , he will be back next week.

OI if a dockers player had of done that to WC player u people would have love it. It was a very harsh injury, but Farmer was milking soooo much.
He looked in alot of pain and a real d**khead eagles supporter mite have been licking thier lips like- 'yay one of thier goalkickers is out', but i was sooo upset.( i was in tears ok! I was very emotional last nite) Far out im glad it isnt as bad as it looked beacuse seriously he looked like he had broken his back. It looked horrible. Good news is that he didnt fracture it or anything like that so its all good. He'l b a huge loss for u guys in the finals if he doesnt pull up fit.
Hope he recovers well...
Hope Jeff gets better soon and is a part of our FIRST EVER FINAL. What rotten luck. This was the second time (the collingwood game being the other) when he was on fire early and then went off in the first quarter with an injury. I feared for the worst but luckily the boys pulled off a great victory.
I can't see him being back for next week.

That was also the case against Melbourne at the MCG earlier this year. Thumbs down to that trend.

So will he or wont he be back next week? :p
Yeah I know...
IN. Koops , Siegert or Cunningham or Haines , Parker.
Out. Cook , Farmer , Thornton (unlucky) .
And we still have Croad & Schammer.
We will be right.

Yeah he'd be real p*ssed off about that. He's an awesome player who put his body on the line at every contest this season. Hope to see him at his best in Round 1, 2004.

I feel very sorry for Troy Cook who absolutely deserves to play in the first Dockers final and now won't be able to. Very disappointing.
Koops was good for West Perth this week, but you can only have him back if you give us Troy Longmuir back.
