I didn't watch the North-Carlton game today (which for the uninformed, the Roos won by 124 points), but I don't think I really needed to to get an idea of what happened.

On a rainy, thundery night back in April, I walked out of the MCG having witnessed Essendon lose to Carlton by 11 points and I could help but think "this is gonna cost us".

Looking at the final ladder, one more win was all we needed to be a real flag threat.

You know, even in years when Carlton finishes 15th and sucks dogs balls, they still find a way to screw up our season.

No, we screwed up our own season, not them cellar dwelling tu rds.

If it didn't rain we would have won.

If, if, if...

Carlton were a different team in the first half of the year, they gave up after that. We were a little lost at the start and only really settled in the 2nd half as a unit with some youngsters getting it together for us & Haynes giving some spark in the midfield.

Another game that cost us was that North loss in the last 10mins of the game!! The Richmond one again was not that bad, they were on a roll at that point so I don't think there is shame in that.

No point blaming Carlton. IF we had won any one of our nine losses...

And besides, the season ain't over yet.

Just ONCE i'd like to go into the Carlton game as the underdogs. When we beat them it's no big deal because we were supposed to win, and when we lose it is humiliating. No fun either way.
