Earlier in the week, on an internet footy site, a young West Coast supporter asked the rather arrogant question, “Why do people support Fremantle?” It’s a question I’ve heard quite often from the frontrunning, success-addled West Coast supporter type, who can’t see why you would stick by a team that has historically done it so hard. The answer is obvious, but you have to wonder why someone would ask the question. Perhaps because they’ve never had a home, and don’t know how sweet home sweet home can be.
