For some unknown reason, Beausgirl43's original post on this topic was deleted...so here it is again.

Ashley McGrath - the officially endorsed player of the particular supporter group that we belong to - has been co-nominated (along with some hack from the Pies) for round 22 in the Rising Star award.

Good stuff, Ashley. :)

Poor stuff, over-officious moderator.

Beausgirl was contacted over the reason for the deletion of her post.

On topic - congrats to Ash, he has had some stellar performances this season and is well deserving of the nomination.

Collingwood supporters, like their Prez (eg after Rnd 19 game, ripping Lions flag out of the hand of a young 'un), are renowned for their sense of humour.

Back to the topic, I have always thought McGrath had the flair to be a natural forward, much like Chris Johnson. He is a luxury in the back-pocket. Could be very useful over the next ten years.

His game against the Bulldogs was breathtaking. Hasn't disgraced himself previously, in the backline, even though he's made some mistakes throughout the season.
