Okay this might have been covered once before, but :

What country teams play in Lions colours, or at least call themselves the Lions?

A couple I know of are :

Forrest apparently wear Roys colours, and get a hiding every week into the bargain. That's devotion!

Warracknabeal are the Lions but the colours are different.

Waaia were apparently in Roys guernseys a while ago ... whether that's still the case, is another story.

Redan wear OLD OLD OLD Roys guernseys (maroon with yellow centre strip) and are called the Lions.

Mobbenfuhrer,

The examples I know of are:
PAKENHAM - called the Lions. They used to wear the Fitzroy jumper, now wear the Brisbane jumper.
CARRUM - no longer in the MPNFL. They used to be called the Lions, they wore red, blue and a white CFC (same as Carlton)
TYABB - used to be called the Lions, now called the Yabbies. They used to wear red, gold and blue in the Fitzroy format, their strip is now marron, gold and blue panels.
SOUTH YARRA - called the Lions, wear maroon, blue and gold.
MURRUMBEENA - called the Lions, but wear maroon and gold.
EASTERN LIONS - formerly Fair Park, they wear the Brisbane jumper.
SOUTH MORANG - appparent;y they used to play in the Fitzroy strip, now play in the Brisbane strip.

Hopefully of assistance.

Cheers,

Thanks folks!

When Great Western moved into the Horsham DFL (after the Ararat DFA folded), their Melbourne colours must have clashed with someone, because they changed to Brisbane guernseys.

They didn't bother to change the song, and the next time they had a win (which was like ... once for the whole year), they sang "Keep your eye on the red and the blue ..." ... "and the gold" "yellow" "oh yeah, and gold".

In SA, Fitzroy in Div 5 amateurs and Gawler South. Fitzroy in SA is one of the most exclusive suburbs of Adelaide, don't know how they'd react if a bus load of Roys fans turned up with the eskies, singing the club song.

Maribyrnong Park in the EDFL weqar FFC colours so now most likely Brisbane, one K.Murray was captain coach in his late 40's after his stint at Sth Morang agin same colours. We also have Farum Lions in the DAFL (now wearing Brisbane but still caling it Maroon and Blue) wondering DAFL the Danish Australian Football League.
Also San Diego Lions now sister club of them up North, and Paul Roos still has a hand in coaching in the West Coast, we also have the Leeside Lions in the ARFLI (Aust' Rules Football League of Ireland) they wear the old FFC colours without the Gold lettering, and they use a ferocious Lion.
Also on footy the Footy Legends Cup played in Toronto in October this year, and the World Cup in Melbourne next year.

You've also got the Eastern Lions, in the EFL. Not really 'regional', but they don't have a suburban name either. Not sure where their home is . . .

Seymour are called the Lions, they wear the Fitzroy coluors with an "SFC" logo in the Goulburn Valley league, they were going to change to Brisbane colours but they clash with Shepparton who now wear Bears unforms and are called the Bears (even more reason to hate them).

Violet Town (home of Killing Heidi's Jesse and Ella Hooper) wear the Fitzroy colours but with a "VT" in front of it.

Mulwala, in the Murray League wear the Brisbane Lions jumper but in the Fitzroy colours.

Moe, in the Latrobe Gippsland League wear dark maroon with a blue V similar to what Hadyn Bunton wore inthe thirties.

Undera, in the Kyabram District League, used to wear Fitzroy's turn of the century's maroon and gold uniform until last year, they now wear Brisbane Lions colours.

South Morang now wear Brisbane Lions colours but used to wear the Maroon, Blue and white logo uniform (with an "SMFC") with the gold lion on the left brest until recently.
