What's the trade gigs ?
I would hate to see us lose players just to get this guy onto our list. I'm not a big fan of trading for top players of other clubs.

Yeah me to.
I dont want to trade a really good player for Brown.
Who would you trade? I really cant think of anyone but im sure someone here will. Also who would you rather. Brown or Stevens?
would danny jacobs or solly be up for trade brown?
i think it would be jacobs more than solly but picking up brown would be awesome as he can play on ball ot up forward

why not?
jacobs is only good down back and if fletch is playing there is rarely a match up for him so he plays up forward where he is useless
Jacobs for Brown??
this would be perfect for both clubs. we really need to get rid of a Key position backman to allow bolton, lucas ect to play there. We also get a quick outside midfielder that everyone is after. Jacobs suit the dogs requirements for good KPP.
I'll be very happy if we get this!
Yeah, ok, we'll take Bolton and Lucas for Brown. Will you throw in a high pick as well? :p

All Melbourne got for Woewoeful was draft pick 16
Beggars can't be choosers, you want a quality 10 year backman, just give us Brownie. Done Deal :)

I think Sheeds made it pretty clear that he wanted Brown down at Windy Hill next year when they were both on TFS - not only did he laugh but also complimented Brown on his jokes (read Holland's pulling power), even though no one else got them.
There was a lot of smug smiling, "well done Browny" etc. etc., obviously pleased that the chances of Brown going to Collingwood as had been speculated diminished immediately with that comment.
well 'apparantly' its lookin like a 3 way deal similar to that of wayne carey....perhaps involving d.jacobs and draft picks.......

Jacobs is a class act, would hate to lose him - especially with Fletch and Wellman getting on a bit.
Would give you Henneman AND Bolton and our 2nd pick, rather than just giving Jacobs.
But goddamn it would be nice to see Brown in the red and black.

the way jacobs played on friday, there is no way i'd trade him for brown
if we do well in the finals, there will be no need to trade for brown, especially if winderlich, walsh and watson can push for senior selection next year

The word is Essendon have offered Bolton, Henneman and their 1st pick as their 1st offer.
Would probably take Bolton and your 2nd pick if you didn't make us take Henneman.

That's a very good first offer i think - would fix your height probs. And i'd take it, providing Browny didn't cost a heap.
Henneman is a decent CHB if you play him there.

We probably will but I'd rather Jacobs (actually I'd rather Brown but I don't think that's gonna happen).

hmmm pretty good, i'd be happy with that i think

no way would i pull the trigger on that deal...
that would leave our KPP depth very thin
All speculation at this stage, no done deals, Essendon are too busy in a finals campaign. Good luck against Port, Sydney gave you many clues on how they can be beaten.
My preferred trade for Brown.
Jacobs and Solomon for Brown.
All these guys are out of contract and it could be easier for them to negotiate with new club.
I'd love Brown, but if that's the price he can go to Collingwood.

Problem is the Pies fans think they can offload Kinnear and Molloy and take him. Essendon are a better team to deal with because they are not frightened to take risks let premiership players go for long term gain. They have proved this over the last couple of years and even going back to the Salmon deal.
I won't insult you by offering Davies, RFK and Barnard :D
But seriously, I think Solomon and Jacobs is asking a bit much. Solomon is one of the best small defenders in the League and is as physically hard as Glen Archer at his peak. Jacobs and maybe a first or second round pick, or maybe DJ and Bolts I could handle. I don't know. But Solomon is one of the few untouchables on my list.
Brown would be great at Essendon, but not at the expense of gutting our backline.

Agreed, I was being ambitious as Cometti would say but we are the bottom club and we have to negotiate and trade aggressively when we lose an elite player. Bottom line is if Brown decides to go I hope we deal with Essendon and not Collingwood or Carlton.
Who is RFK?

RFK = Robert Forster-Knight. No way I'd let Solly go. And I'd hate to see DJ or Bolts leave. I suppose I can see the reasoning behind trading DJ, but I think Bolts is a very valuable member of our team and he still has a truckload of great footy left in him. His fitness is second to none at Essendon.
Perhaps trading DJ & Henneman, or Henneman & first pick, or DJ & first pick?
Apart from that, do we really need Brown???

I dont mind that but I would be against losing Jacobs for a Brown type player who often goes missing. Something weird about small forwards I think. Anyone rating Henneman and Bolton above Jacobs have rocks in their heads!

Then they should stay at Windy Hill and be payed what they are worth. I am sure Solly,Jacobs and Bolton all are very keen to stay there with their mates and at a financially strong club.
Interesting Henneman is getting senior games now. Getting him ready for October 13th?

I do think that at times Sheeds plays players against sides that he thinks should have taken them in a draft or something.... just to rub their noses in it. But that isn't the case on this occassion.
Either Alessio or Henneman must be in the EFC run on side during the finals. Even if it is only to have a back-up in the event that Hille suffers an injury (or play the final quarter when the game is over).
But I was quietly happy with Henneman's performance on Friday night.
IMO, if EFC trade Henneman, the team that picks him up will be very happy with their investment. I don't think he is worth much on the trade table at present, but can hold down CHB.
As for trading for Brown... it is worth noting that the Essendon list is so strong that we may need to trade some players simply to provide other players with a chance to make the starting 22. In saying that I think Solly is one of the best HBF in the game. Jacobs is priceless if Fletch is injured or suspended. Both would be significant losses.
Bolton provides great run, height and flexibility but is not absolutely essential. Henneman can be replaced by retaining Ces and hoping the younger guys can beat him for 2nd Ruck.
As for our first round pick... well, I'd like to keep it... but Brown's availability provides a unique opportunity.

agree with most of this, bolton is expendable
I don't even want him - we don't need him. Chase Stevens instead.

i would be very happy with Stevens at Essendon. Always looks like he gives 100%, top line midfielder. I would be quite happy to get Robert Murphy aswell!
