I lost count of how many times Brisbane players went to ground at crucial times tonight. Don't they think stops are necessary in Melbourne ? It cost them at least 4 goals, not to mention making Collingwood look good.

For someone who supposedly loves their team, you are always awfully negative SB, how were you in the days where we didnt win a game (in either bears or lions form),cause I remember those dark days, and am thankful for the success we've had with our team, and the effort they put in.
You dont seem to *enjoy* your team anymore, which is a damn pity.
Good try tonite boys, season isnt over, no need to lull in negativity. Heres to next week!

nicely said pedro.
Pathetic? No way! Proud of the boys regardless of the outcome. I too remember the dark days of the Bears, especially at Carrara and have enjoyed the recent ride to success.
When you boil it all down, there was really not much in the result.
A couple of crucial misses here, a few bounces of the ball and not to mention ZERO frees in the second half (apart from one reversal).
The Pies got 2 goals from soft 50's (one of them the softest of the season) , 2 more from wierd bounces and the killer, a brilliant set shot from the boundary.
Anyway, congratulations and good luck to them. They took enough of their chances when it counted and looked the better side at the end of the game.
However, I'm not ashamed of our effort, even if I WAS frustrated by our inability to convert opportunities.
We did have 51 inside 50's to their 47 so that probably tells a story to some extent.
Anyway, we're not dead yet, so let's get behind them and help 'em get over the line next week.

I think I owe you an explanation on why I said pathetic.
1. Earlier on, skills were poor. They were kicking too short, kicking too long, missing targets. They have been all year.
2. Was in reference to Leigh Matthews coaching performance and to what he said on Thursday.
3. Easy set shots at goal were missed, something which has been giving them trouble all year.
Overall, they tried for the whole match, which was something positive to take back. They never gave in. Their performance was good but some things need to be fixed up if we are to beat Adelaide this week.
That's basically what I meant by pathetic. Skill wise.

I don't think we could criticising them for giving less than 100% - they were just running on empty by halfway through the 2nd quarter. I think they are going to find it very tough though this week, particularly coming off a 6 day break in their condition. They looked a fairly sore and sorry lot by the finish on Saturday night.

We missed something like 4-5 shots from directly in front, on the run. We should have buried you guys in the second half. Seriously. Our inability to convert could have lost us the game. Not too mention Tarrant hitting the post (could go on, but won't).
BTW, what is this about soft 50s? I thought tripping a player by the hand was an AUTOMATIC 50. Was it Bradshaw that did it? I can't remember, but he is lucky because 2 seasons ago he would have been reported for that. Also, Tarrant was attempting to go back to take his kick, but was prevented as he went back to take it. Why wouldn't it be 50?
I think Luthor's referring to the one that Cloke received that ended up in a goal to Buckley. Cloke reacted as if he had been whacked with a two by four that Bradshaw had stuffed down his shorts.
It was a re-visitation of the Fitzroy/1996 syndrome. I've always thought the embrace of Fitzroy's history could turn out to be a double-edged sword. Only jarkin'. Fumble and fall over, very familiar though.
There was also a period of about ten minutes during the third quarter, when we dropped five uncontested marks at centre-half-back.
Too bad to be true. Couldn't possibly happen again. Could it?
Pressure football will do that to a team, and Collingwood provided extreme pressure. :D
