As all Melbourne -based fans know, attendance at a final v Pies is an imposing experience - bit like a leftie at the Nuremburg Rally. If you can get away with a win, let alone an unmolested rail trip home, it can sustain belief. Last night was the other side of the coin. We lacked a match winner and yet again in Melbourne, finished the game with a struggling bench. Shades of the 1999 finals race. We were the hunted and we've taken some big hits.

However, the kids - who bravely get the gear on and wave the flags - were uplifted by a fantastic moment. We literally bumped into Kevin Murray. He was so enthusiastic - got their names, had a chat, showed them the Brownlow that he keeps around his neck, encouraged them to carry on barracking hard. He's 60+ going on 18. Gave everyone a huge boost - thanks Bulldog !

it was very hard work being a Lions supporter at the G the other night. Not hard work seeing your team lose (as that happens) but difficult in terms of if you happened to be seated in any area of Pies supporters you were subjected to filth at any comment made as a positive to the Lions.
