Damien Cupido 8/10 - Excellent at Essendon. Has had some patches where he has done the individual thing, but displayed his talents on Friday night against Fremantle. We should have never got rid of him.

Craig Bolton 9/10 - Has taken an excellent position at the highly improved Swans. Playing key position down back, he has held down opponents and given run out of the backline. His best game of the year would have been against us. Jonathan Brown was on fire in the first quarter, Craig moved onto him and he kept Brown out of the game. He was rated as a hack from some Brisbane supporters throughout his time up here at Brisbane.

Now to the players who aern't playing at elite level this year.

Luke Hammond (NO RATING) - Has had a reasonable year at Yarrawonga in the O & M. Didn't see much of him so can't really comment on him. Even though I'm around that area, I don't pay attention to the O & M.

Michael Martin 10/10. - He came third in the best and fairest this year for the Eltham football club. Michael Martin (98 votes) came third in the polling after scoring maximum votes in the last three games. Recruited from Brisbane Lions, Mick’s first crack at local senior football gained momentum from a inconsistent start to simply outstanding. Mick fitted well into the club and brought with him great pace and presence on the field.

Who were the other players that left us? If there were anymore?

Obviously not terribly missed.

Of course, how could I miss him. Maybe coz he had a **** year and wasn't recognised.

Des Headland 5/10 - He should have stayed with us and he probalby would have a Brownlow. Wasn't settled in Fremantle, only had a few good games throughout the year and generally lacked the drive. Once he gets settled he will be playing like he did at Brisbane. Never stepped up in Fremantle's first final - one of the few with finals experience.

You are a bit blinkered in your opinions I think SB

Cupido - 6 - When he's hot he's very hot but even then his kicking for goal lets him down. When he is not he is definitely NOT. But he fits the Bombers well. Kevin Sheedy accepts that every player is different and tries to bring out the best characteristics in all of them, whether they are a Cupido or a Peverill.

Bolton - 9 - Outstanding season. What the Lions wouldn't do to have him in the backline.

Martin - 3 - Should at least be playing VFL to be anywhere above 5.

Headland - 4 - Slow start, gradually got into the season, but was terrible on Friday night, which affected my rating of him substantially. As one of only 5 players with September experience, he should have stood up and showed some leadership, and he couldn't. Overall he struggled this season without anybody to kick the ball to him.

Not bad rchowell

Cupido - 7 I love it when he gives the umpire a spray and cops another 50 m penalty. Nasty tendancy to go in late, Pickett style, might bring him undone.

Bolton - 6 Has been workmanlike, but his disposal is still ordinary. Wouldn't want him anywhere near our backline, Bradshaw is a much better bet.

Headland - 3 Miss him the most, but his season has demonstrated that he needs to get consistent supply and confidence to perform well.

Martin, Darren Bradshaw - Unrankable.

Nathan Clarke, Luke Hammond - no idea.

(Clint Alleway from our list a few years ago played a great game against Tassie on Sunday for Port Melbourne)

What a load of crap! The only reason you gave him 10 is because he was your favourite player at Brisbane. Do you owe him money or something? Only finishing 3rd in the B&F at Eltham after playing AFL is hardly worthy of a rating of 4, let alone 10.

Fair go! It's always hard making the transition from AFL level, state level to a surburban football league. You can't honestly expect someone who has played AFL to mix into another style of play straight away? It does take time you know to get settled into things again, especially in a different environment. If he is playing for Eltham next year, based on him getting to the action of a lesser league later in the year and knowing what it's like again after almost a decade of not playing at a level like that, he will win the Best and Fairest next year.

You still missed my point, you gave him 10/10 for what was only 3rd in ELTHAM's B&F......you even said you can't expect someone to go down to that level and play well straight away......but you thought he did well enough to get a perfect score...How???!!!

Cupido could not rate more than 4/10.
Has played some shockers this year for the Bombers.
He has the potential to win matches off his own boot but because of his lack of discipline could just as easily cost you the game with a silly free kick or 50 mtr penalty.
