Howdy Hawk folks

Just wondering what the general opinion of Robert Campbell is among Hawk supporters.

Would he be tradeable in light of the salary cap circumstances. Many have mentioned the big names like Rawlings but I'm sure the Hawks won't allow them to simply move on. I doubt there would be much interest in players like Holland at his age and salary situation. So that got me thinking that maybe Campbell might be a chance to be traded.

If So, what would you realistically expect as a trade? The Bulldogs could use another ruck and have a lot of midfield talent and draft picks to barter with. Any thoughts?

cheers

He's still very wet behind the ears, think only 20. Will be a top line ruckman and hopefully his development will be with us. Spider has two yrs left, Campbell should slip straight in when Spider retires. Loats doesnt go too bad either.
To be honust i dont think he would get much offered for him at the trade table. If you want to destroy my sweater

I rate Bobby Campbell. He's getting better all the time and under Spider's tutelage he'll be a fairly sharp ruckman by the time Spider goes.

As for the trades.... I think Harford is going to Carlton from what I'm hearing and *if any* of the talls go, it may be Dutchy, although the word is that none will go after the pay negotiations and some other trades/delistings (eg: Elstone).

I've heard a bit about Jonny Hay, but I live a few houses away from him and let me tell you, he's not going anywhere.

You wouldnt think Dutchy would provide any real value as a trade. He'd pose to much of a risk to another club. He's prolly got one good year left in him.
What we want is Hodge to have an injury free pre season, train the house down and come out next year and tear'em apart...Cute girls always have the best diseases

Ruckman mature late. They seem to play their best footy at 24 +.

With that in mind, I'd like to keep Robby Campbell, he has genuine size and bulk ala Paul Salmon. Maybe we could teach him to kick a couple of goals when Thompson goes into the ruck?

We have a shortage of young talls, but we have heaps of young midfielders.

We are most likely to trade players like Ries, Bateman, Johnson, Picioane, Greene, A Cox, Clarke or even Lonie.

Nobody wants Holland, Harford, Graham, Tallis, S Cox, Barker, McCabe, Stone.

Have to keep Rawlings, Thompson, Hay, Smith, Crawford, Everitt, Mitchell, Osborne and Hodge.

If someone has to go for salary cap reasons, then they have to be worth something to another team eg -
Vandenburg (Medium trade value)
Dixon (Medium trade value)
Lekkas (High trade value)

Nobody wants to see these three go, but they are not KPP, they are all over 25 and it is better than losing Thompson or Rawlings.

When Vanders is in form he is one of the best taggers in the league....he just had a bad year this year. If we get rim of him, how many other decent taggers do we have?

I just hope Lekkas doesn't go.

Definitley keep Rob, he's gonna be a champ one day just needs a bit more experience and confidence. If you gonna dump a ruckman, get rid of Loats!!!
