Iggy and the Stooges

I hear they are one act rumoured to be on the bill for BDO. Is this true? Have they reformed and I just missed it? Does anyone have details like who is in the lineup?

the rumour is that they will play right before Metallica, who are the only confirmed band at the moment.

they have reformed and have played a couple of shows in the usa. they have recorded a few tracks together for iggy's next album due out before the end of the year. i am not sure what lineup they are going with though.

Well, technically its the Stooges (and not Iggy and the Stooges who were the Raw Power lineup). So it will be the Asheton boys on guitar and drums respectively, Iggy out front and I think Mike Watt on bass (filling in for Dave Alexander who would have some problems doing the gig ;)) From all reports they have been fantastic-doing stuff off the self-titled album and Funhouse. They've even had Steve McKay, the original sax player on Funhouse play 1970 and Funhouse as their encore.

For me this would be a chance to see my equal all time favourite band. The other is Blue Oyster Cult whom I saw in 2000 - it would be awesome to get the quinella!

Thanks for all the info guys, its brilliant news. I really hope they play some shows outside of BDO if they do hit town-BDO and the like is just too many kids in one place for me these days.



BTW I saw Ron Asheton and his band play at Sarah Sands about 10 years ago. I swapped a cigarette for one of the great mans guitar picks I wish I knew where it was now.:confused:
