Okay, someone on this board experienced my reaction when I found out Hadley was selected and I was told to settle down. You know who you are! ;)

I recently bag the **** out of players to help them play good, but I have been waiting for this post for a very long time and this is the opposite. This post should have been doing earlier in the year. This is the time you show everyone that you're an awesome player and that you deserve to be in this successful team. You played your only game of AFL in Round 3 2001 V Richmond and this night I knew you would be a good player even though you got limited game time and only gathered 4 disposals. You have battled Osteitis Pubis last year and this year you have got to the stage where all your hard work to get back out there has finally paid off. Kicking goals every week in the reserves, being listed as the best player on a consistent basis, you deserve this chance to show us what you are made of. Have a good game and you'll stay in for next week if we win.

It's about bloody time Hads has been selected as far as I'm concerned. I have had him in my team selection almost every week and I know he is going to step up and have a very good game on the weekend. He won't let this game slip. He could be close to delisting at season's end. He knows that he needs to have a good game and I know that he will have a good game.

One of the rare times I predict something in a game, but I predict Hadley will have 15 disposals plus and maybe even kick a goal or two. He will most likely have a lot of game time and will most likely be in the middle. He will be one of our best players tomorrow night providing he gets a lot of game time, which he should.

So Richard Hadley, your time has finally come!

Will be very interesting to see how Hadley is used, as Leigh tends to play inexperienced players off the bench. Vossy's fitness and ability to play in the centre will have a big bearing on how much game time Hadley actually gets. There is no better stage to cement a place in the team than a knock-out final, and Hadley has to grasp this opportunity and not be over awed. I have a quiet confidence that he will make the most of his chances, and being a more mature player than a lot of the others that have played few senior games should be thrown in the deep end early.

I have this feeling Hadley will start on the back flank. Either that, or he'll spend the first 10 - 15 minutes on the bench, then have a run. I somehow don't think Vossy will be able to play much in the middle, even if he does play. We'll have to wait and see how he is used, but I'd start him off the back flank personally.

Yeah yeah. You had to pick that game out didn't you?

I'm pretty sure it was Saturday Night at Colonial Stadium.

Sorry SB,

It was a Saturday Arvo at the MCG, I think we went down by about 13 points.

I think somebody may have kidnapped SB and replaced him with an imposter. That post was far too positive and supportive to be the real SB, but I have to agree whoever you are.:)

just got home from the game, hadley came through with flying colours, he can really play, ready made senior player. Do you remember the days when players were allowed and expected to play 30-50 ressie games before being a ones regular.

Hahahaha! Come on, he's only one of my favourite players!

For the record.

3 kicks, 5 handballs, 8 disposals, 1 mark, 2 tackles, a few more 1%ers, composed very well under pressure all in 1 and a half quarters of football. I'm willing to bet he has immunity next week. Brilliant game Richard.

Played very well on such a big occasion in what was only his second game. Will he retain his place for the prelim?

He should.

Take this into account.

Ashcroft has a severe knee injury. He won't play.

That leaves Chris Scott, Aaron Shattock and Tim Notting to come into the side.

Chris Scott will replace Ashcroft if Chris is ready to come back into the side. If Chris isn't ready to come back into the side, Notting will come in.

Hadley has displayed that he can play down back and in the midfield and played the majority in the midfield tonight. With that in mind, I'd have him in the team ahead of Shattock and Notting considering Shattock still might not be able to play. He will keep his spot.

So the injury to Choppers should keep Hadley in the side.

Hadley was great tonight, showed brilliant composure in the backline when he had the ball with a Crows player charging at him, he just simply baulked around him exactly the way Gram didn't . Proved he's ready for regular senior games in my opinion.

Who was the Crows player? Does anyone remember?

I'm not sure, but from where I was sitting it looked like a big boy... may have been Stevens.
