A friend informed me today that he'd heard that frontman of legendary Melbourne 3-piece The Powdermonkeys - Tim Hemensley - had passed away a couple of weeks back.
If this is indeed the case, I'm am totally shattered.
What an absolute tragedy to lose such an awesome rock musician, singer, and songwriter, for possibly THE greatest live band this country has ever produced.
I will never forget that set the Powdermonkeys played before Wayne Kramer and Radio Birdman, when they downright refused to leave the stage, preferring instead to continue playing behind the curtain at the Palace to an overwhelmingly appreciative crowd on the other side ....
To the family and friends of the magnificent Tim Hemensley, I offer my sincerest sympathies.
Does anyone here have any details of his passing ?
