I hope the answer is yes, maybe you rabid Panther fans should should try and "gently" prod him in that direction. I know giving your non AFL club some service after your *ahem* 'Victorian' career is finished isn't done as often as it once was i think Bickley is the type of guy that would at least consider it.

Maybe he will go back to where it all started and have a season with the Solomontown Cats in Port Pirie, last time he played for them was 1988 and he won the Madigan Medal and they won the flag which his Dad was coach of the side.

I think he has at least another year or two in him.

South Adelaide needs him either way.

The last guy who tried that was McDermott at North and I dont think it worked. Captain/Coaches at SANFL level are a thing of the past.

I hope they make a concerted effort to get him back to the club as either a player or coach.

Did you see his press conference Matt? He said that he "ruled out" coaching at this stage but maybe later down the track. But if they offer him enough incentive you never know he might change is mind!

I can't see it happening but it would be good for South if he did. He was still playing well at AFL level, can't say the same about one of his team-mates. Bicks always gave 110%, and will be sorely missed.

If South wants him back as a player, they'd want to get him signed up for next season, pronto.

When Tony McGuinness was given the ar$e by Malcolm Blight, he wasn't exactly past it. Then he sat out a year (while lisping next to Georgie on channel 9's news set) before taking on the Bays coaching position. By round 7 or 8 or so he was convinced that he was fit enough to take to the field himself, so he did - and was given a thorough towelling. He did not pull on the Black and Gold again. My point is that "if you don't use it, you lose it", especially at Bickley's age. If he takes a year off, he'll never get back into it.

He should do what all old South players do, and line up for Glenelg :D

:D

About time they just amalgamated. The honour roll and past players list wouldn't look much different.

Nah i think Bicks will go back to Sollys for a year or 2....he is well loved in Port Pirie. You just have to walk down the main street and you can feel Bickleys spirit all around you:p
