The Eastern Football League (vic) has got to be the best footy in victoria below the AFL and VFL.

EFL Grand Finals have had larger crowds than VFL Grand Finals in recent years, haven't they?

I just wish the EFL would stop using Bayswater and Boronia for their top division finals! Bayswater is a hole and Boronia is not much better!!

They should be using Ringwood and Mitcham for a start! Both have excellent cover. Bayswater is about as open as you can get! It's even worse than Box Hill (and that's saying something!!)

I can't think of any other good venues off the top of my head. Even my club Donvale's ground isn't amongst the best!

On the field, I think the Diamond Valley FL is better - but it is pretty close. Ditto Ovens and Murray and Geelong.

Definitely not last year - the VFL grand final had about 25-30k people watching.

I'd rate the VAFA A grade as slightly higher than the EFL as well.

Top competition, better than DVFL, covering a huge area

Also can be due to clubs like Noble Park, East Burwood, Vermont and East Ringwood having plenty of dosh

Should be a huge crowd at the GF, East Burwoods got a huge following

The EFL is denfinetly in the top 2 comp's in the state, agree its better than the DVFL. The O & M is the only one which could compete with it.
Also can anyone confirm a rumor on the EFL forum website that Balwyn (Premiers of SFL) want to join the Eastern next year.

There are no local suburban leagues that get anywhere near 10-15000 that the VFL get they mostly only estimate their crowds. Dont forget also the VFL is LIVE on TV with an audience of 200,000 many of whom would go if it wasnt on live. The two finals last week had the best ratings the ABC has ever had.

According to the EFL they got 10,000 in the year 2000 (I know; might not be true). Meanwhile, the VFL got 8,000 to its Grand Final that year (both were at Waverley).

That figure isn't right. Optus Oval was filled (plus in the paper last year the figure was given as at least 25,000).

I drove past Bayswater today, there looked to be about 6-7 k for their grand final. Maybe as much as 10k, it's hard to tell.

About the paper; sounds like the HUN to me. :p

O&M may have beaten all others. Will know soon.
It was briliiant weather in the Riverina and officials were expecting 15,000 to Lavington Panthers Oval for the Grandfinal between the 2 top crowd drawing teams Corowa & Wodonga.
Will be interesting to see if they get it.

Last Year 10100 turned up and the last time 15,000 came was 1989

The Official attendance at O&M Grandfinal was 14,356
So that makes the O&M 4th after AFL, WAFL, SANFL this year.
