Had me worried when the suns got within 18 pts, but great to see the giants find another gear and run away with it. Dylan Sheil really stepped up when it was required.
very good win
Final score:
GWS 17.9.111
Suns 11.8.74

Great result for the Giants! Though I am not quite convinced that the Suns reserves are of the quality of the Lions or Swans..

The Suns beat the Lions reserves quite convincingly earlier in the year, but the Swans flogged the Suns a couple of weeks back. The strength of the reserve teams vary a lot depending on how many injuries there are - I think the Lions' team has been fielding five or six listed players on a number of occasions. The Suns also don't have any restrictions on fielding listed players, whereas the Lions (and maybe the Swans?) have maximums they can use.
Swans have been looking a class above at the moment, but largely because they have had Seaby, Pyke, White and Currie all playing reserves at various points, and the larger bodies often prove the difference against teams largely made up of kids and amateurs.

Suns Reserves are going much much better than the Lions Reserves are. Swans are going super well but they barley have any injuries. Giants played well in the first half V them in the clash at Manuka a few weeks ago. It was pretty much all even until 3QTR time...the Swans just ran over the Giants in the end

How'd Folau go?

Another pleasing result, although I'm still struggling to get a feel for what this all means (if anything) for Round 1, 2012.

Not alot...however expirence against current AFL players is invaluable. As long as we get decent results kids like Dylan Shiel keep getting better, Im happy

Watched the MainEvent on Fri night. Impresed with the structure and intensity of the Giants. Shiels will play in firsts next year.
Suns were sloppy, even tho they had several firsts players loitering there. Hutchins good.

Shiel will be a gun, have seen him twice already play the Swans and they were tagging him.
Anyone know if the upcoming GWS-Swans Reserves game will also be on Main Event?

They are, however, arguably better than the Power's firsts.
