Now who can truthfully say they supported the moves of Roach on Hird and Wakelin on Lloyd? I know I can't. Maybe Wakelin on Lloyd, I can't recall him playing 2 bad games in a row. Although I must say even that one worried me. But when I saw Roach on Hird, although I wasn't ready to give the game away I was prepared for at least a good game from Hird. Instead what did we have? A caption on the screen at 20 mins in the 1st quarter reading K 0, M 0, H 0. And "gone missing" in the 3rd quarter with Hird, Lloyd and Solomon 0 disposals in 15 minutes. And at least 2 of Hird's 7 possessions were under so much pressure they went straight to Wanganeen. What about Lloyd? He had how many possessions, was it 1 or 2.
Collingwood, be afraid, be very afraid. After they scored 4.7 to 1.4 against a very inadequate Brisbane in the 2nd half they would know they have a game on their hands.

I dont think collingwood have anything to worry about next week.Port will be s-hitting themselves at the thought of coming to Melbourne next week to face the pies.
The way port peolple were carrying on after tonights game you would think they won the flag.
They will get smashed by 10 goals against the pies next week.

Come on, Michael Voss went down in the first quarter and Shane Wakelin started to get right on top of Alastair Lynch, and all Collingwood could do was outscore Brisbane by 3.3. And that was with 2 late goals. Port have only lost 3 second halfs this year.
If by "inadequate" you thought I meant Brisbane were crap, that was not the intention at all. I meant they were unluckily prevented from being at their best.
Anyway, this thread was meant to be about Wakelin and Roach and the discussions thereof by Port supporters. If anyone wants to answer, just post here.

If you had of watched the coll v bris final properly you would have noticed that the reasen scoring was so low was because the pressure both sides were putting on each other particularly in defence was enormous. If Port had of been playing in that final against either coll or bris they would have been thumped by more than 10 goals because they have shown that they are not able to handle pressure type finals agianst top sides

Crap.
Voss was injured big time. Keating only had one arm. Scott was struggling big time. Akermanis was also injured.
Add to that another Scott that didn't play and you will see the real reason why Collingwood (only just) got up.
Don't forget that you were as close to full strength as you possibly can.
It was your best team Vs a decimated Brisbane.

I have full confidence in the coach and the match committee and that doesn't change from one result to another.

Well thats the price you pay for playing injured players. If they were injured, they shouldnt of played.Pulling out injury excuses is weak as p1ss as far as i am concerned.

Not suprising match ups, Choco obviously has more faith in those two than most of us here. I guess it wasn't a suprise to see them play so well but after last weeks "effort's" i was a little nervous Hell i wouldn't have even played Cochrane, but once he was named, it was pretty easy to see him take Hird.

As for Wakelin, the midfield/ruck dominance made Lloyd irrelevant, the weather also didn't help Lloyd's cause.

I'm sure Brisbane weren't making excuses at all. But comparing a havily-injured Brisbane and a rampant Port will just mean yet another early end to the year for the Colliwobblers.
I'm surprised that you think you can accuse people of not watching the game. You don't appear to think Collingwood were lucky. Even with Voss out of action Brisbane looked a chance and it was only when Keating left that Collingwood took over.

Hard to go past these sort of arguments from you lot.
After all you use the same sort of logic to claim you have always been the strongest club in the land even though you have only won one premiership in how many years?

If Malthouse was a diehard Collingwood fan I would say we would win easily. Unfortunately he isn't.

Or the way Collingwood fans carried on at Footy Park against Port Adel earlier this year, one of your ******** supporters wanted to fight everyone. Pretty funny when they zoomed in on it on the bigscreen.

Tosser :o

Couldn't handle the loss, I thought Collingwood supporters would of learned how to accept losses in their lifetime.

Well I know I handle it a lot better than you lot did last week.

Welcome to the big league, at least pretend that you belong

Yeah well we didn't start fights in the crowd after the game did we.
I guess accidents happen, instead of playing Sydney you now have to play Port. I bet you would of been rapt to Sydney win.

If your'e good enough, you'll win no matter who you play, if not ..... well that the way it goes. Going by your philosophy,, you'd never get to meet the best side in the GF. What sort of victory is that?

You have to play them at some stage, might as well be next week, or the week after.

As for fights in the crowd, Welcome to Australian Rules football, it happens, are you scared of a bit of testosterone floating around?

If you grew up in country Vic and went to country football matches, hell, the fights used to start in the pubs weeks in advance, in the lead up to the match. We thought as kids it was great. But I guess I'm now speaking to the chardonney sippers over in SA.

I don't mind the fights, it was just you first stated about we took it badly and I was just picking out one of many examples where you guys take it just as bad.
And I thought Collingwood supporters lost their teeth from opening up baked bean cans with their mouth. Fighting never occured to me actually, I just thought that Collingwood supporter left his medication back in Melbourne.

Judging by your comments you dont appear to give collingwood any credit for their win against Brisbane and are using injury excuses as to why Brisbane lost.Saying Collingwood were lucky indicates to me that you obviosly werent watching the same game i was watching.Surely Brisbane are talented enough that they dont only rely on the likes of Voss and Keating to win them games.A rampant Port will be humiliated this week by collingwood because they will show yet again that Port cannot handle finals pressure agianst top 4 sides. After all Port have only beaten the 8th placed side in this finals series and have no hope against the pies

Fact - Brisbane were not at full strength last week.

Fact - Port wont be at full strength either but should do enough to win.

Both are still better teams than Collingwood IMO.
